How OpenBSD is dealing with the xz problem (as seen on the OpenBSD.ports mailing list). This package is not in the base system (it is on my laptop, though):

'Re: archivers/xz: update to 5.6.1' - MARC https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-ports&m=171174950828153&w=2

@morgant @mattdm TBH, I'm surprised this wasn't discussed on OpenBSD.misc.

I don't usually go to the OpenBSD.ports mailing list, but I had a feeling there might be something about it.

I'm no insider, but the base system in OpenBSD is highly scrutinized, and ports/packages not as much. It would be impossible to do so. (I really don't know how the project has so many packages, but it's very helpful.)

passthejoe,
@passthejoe@ruby.social avatar

@mangelucci Developer Bradley Taunt recently moved everything.

Here is the repo:

https://git.btxx.org/shinobi

And here is Bradley's blog, which has most of the instructions for how to set it up:

https://shinobi.btxx.org/feed.xml

Particularly this entry:

https://shinobi.btxx.org/posts/create-your-own-shinobi-website.txt

passthejoe,
@passthejoe@ruby.social avatar

@mangelucci The way it works is that the entries are served as .txt files, and it's meant to be consumed in an RSS feed reader, though you can see it in a normal web browser.

I'm not quite sure how the styling works -- there's an rss.xsl file that I think takes care of it.

Bradley coded a way to wrap the lines at 72 characters, but that doesn't look right on phone browsers. So I went back to not using the line-wrapping version.

It does look great in the RSS reader in Thunderbird.
