Last time I did fiber stuff, in 2019, I went with multimode fiber. Looking around now it seems like single mode is just about the same price and more future proof? Did I make a mistake 5 years ago or did the prices on single mode stuff go way down since then?

Noticed a house about 100-200 feet away has an anemometer, and I'm guessing other weather related sensors. Wonder if I can get an SDR to pick up the signal and if its rude to do so…

Anyone have a suggestion for a cheap soundbar style computer USB speaker? Something with no LED barf and that doesn't look gamery.

@agiletortoise keyword ”cheap", just something to have The YouTube running on the background. Anything where quality matters I'll just use some set of nice headphones + amp/dac.

I ended up getting a Creative Stage Air V2 and it sounds OK but has two big issues. 1. The audio coming right below my monitor feels super weird, not sure if it’s something I'd ever get used to. 2. Piano Black plastic 🤮.

Might switch to wall mounted Pebbles but cable length could be problematic.

A bit over 700 miles at 15.5mpg. Not great but it’s pretty terrible even when not towing. But hey at least felt super stable.
