person,

Any photo editor will do. Just load it in and export as JPEG or smaller resolution.

On f-droid:

Pocket Paint is crashy for me, but it gets the job done.

Imagepipe has a bit clunky interface but just to load and export it works fine. Its primary advertised purpose is to remove metadata from photos, so not a bad thing to have on hand anyway.

I miss people looking like humans.

Everywhere online now, every movie, every home video, has been passed through so many filters that people don’t look human any more. Nobody has any lines in their face, their teeth are florescent white, their eyes are filled in and have no veins. Nobody ever looks tired, or natural. Add to the mix the fact that everyone is...

person,

Peep Show if you’re into humour as dry as sandpaper. It definitely has peopley people.

Why does this sound threatening?

(ahh thanks for the archived link)

person,

maybe OP’s deal has a clause where they can trade a soul for their freedom to back out

[OC] Shipwreck of Hephaestus (lemmy.world)

We were traveling through Malta in 2018 when I came across this. According to the locals it had crashed up on shore about a month prior. They didn’t know what to do so they tied it off until they could come up with a solution. My personal favorite of the photos I took. The two guys below were exploring the ship. Thought it...

person,

It’s Guiness. The bar for evidence is 10,000 dollars.

person,

Yeah that’s a good segment about it. Recently Pinely released one with some fun tidbits of Guiness shenanigans: How Guiness RUINED World Records

person,

Have you checked to make sure he is not your human dad?

Well since posts are numbered sequentially, you could archive all of them by generating the links. Tiny issue is, this would include every post that was federated with the server, which is almost 2 million it seems. A bit overkill for a relatively small instance.

I think if you filter by local on the main page and click next until you get to the end, there aren’t that many pages. You could save those with outlinks.

Also, I believe, the posts will live on on other instances regardless.

Can I skip updates?

I have LineageOS installed on my phone and it has almost weekly updates. Since the device is quite budget, I believe its memory can be damaged by such often updates so I’m not updating it for 2 months already. But there are security fixes and patches in newer versions so I do want to update. My question is: do I have to...

person,

AFAIK LineageOS updates supply the whole system every time, that’s why it’s always so large. You should be fine skipping a couple. (fine in this way anyway)

That being said, I really doubt you could ever write enough data to harm the mass storage or RAM of your device before you have to switch phones because it stops being supported, or you drop it on concrete, etc.

person,

Sources vary, and admittedly I didn’t research this thoroughly, but even old articles say that flash memory (which is what almost all smartphones use, I think) is expected to work for 10,000 or 100,000 complete writes. That is just sooo much data, even if your phone only has 16GB or something

You should research more on this, and decide if it will be fine for you for the next X years you wish to use this phone.

person,

Maybe it’s just me: had to double back on that literal use of “where in the world”.

person,

I am marking D. Final answer.

A. Book store with erotic readings
B. Library/Arcade rented out for an orgy
C. Disneyland parentcare facility
D. Strip club

person,

2 + 50% means that 51 + n people upvoted and 50 + n people downvoted, where n is a natural number. Making the % (x): 50% < x < 50.50%, where x is rounded down to 50%.

person,

A smartass and wrong! You obviously messed up thinking OP’s initial upvote wouldn’t count towards the percentage. The correct formula is n + 2 upvotes for n downvotes, which makes 0.5 < (n+2) / (2n + 2) < 0.505, solve for the smallest possible n₀ = 100, giving us 102 + n upvotes and 100 + n downotes

person,

Imagine the possibilities when they find out how the wolf had access to so much naturally occurring high explosive material!

person,

I bet they’re in this deep. A third of grown food goes to waste? No. That’s just their cut.

person,

So nice to see that these posts are actually letting people know about this and help the effort :)

person,

Issue is: it’s just too damn convenient!

Now, I’m a weirdo, so I actively avoid as many features as possible, but my life would be so much easier if I just kneeled down in front of chrome, and enjoyed the myriad integrated features. Or if I just found out what the F mozilla pocket is.

person,

Maybe not all clients show it. Jerboa shows you
