When I looked at my Hancock collection the other day it occurred to me how these albums are not just music history, but also spectacles frames history!
Zürich wants to remove bike lanes and make roads more narrow, thereby slowing down cars so they can‘t overtake cyclists anymore.
How utterly stupid!
Just last week a car hit me from behind when I was standing at an intersection.
Days before a car overtook me so closely that my clothes were pulled towards it. I then rode in the middle of the road to prevent further close encounters, only to be overtaken by the next car who almost ran headways into an oncoming car. Etc.
Kid‘s class have to read books in school now and track pages per day. My kid started with a text-only book set in small letters. A classmate read many more pages in the same time, in a book with lots of images and set in large letters.
Obviously my kid now switched to those books as well – she liked the other stories, but it‘s really disheartening to fall behind in page count for her.
Why not just check in with each kid to see how they‘re doing?
@peter I feel you. The one time I was bumped off my bike, I was wearing an extremely day glo retro cycling jersey. "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you!" Girl, you didn't /look/.
@peter well, yep. That's what my knocker-overer did too. She checked the roundabout for any cars coming from the right (this was in the UK), didn't see any, so entered the roundabout. Exactly when I was literally in front of her car bonnet. I had priority.
Switzerland is ridiculous: our Council of States suggests to prosecute individual journalists who publish data that has been illegally collected, e.g. through a whistleblower or the darknet.
This would mean that the only data they could report on would be data that has been published by an organisation. As if anyone would publish their own wrongdoings 🤦
