@sarajw Yay, very cool! It has been a life-changer for us and I‘m sure it‘ll be one for you, too – so much freedom to roam about with family and groceries!

@sarajw Just being able to drop ANY kind of stuff in a box is amazing (we have a front-loader), go and find one asap :)

@sarajw Smart! I love these kinds of design details

Did you know? 🎙️🦤 The second web browser in history, and apparently the first one designed to be multiplatform, was coded by Nicola Pellow – a crucial step in making the web accessible to a wider audience at the time, and having a lasting impact on the development of the https://nowebwithoutwomen.com/tory https://nowebwithoutwomen.com/

peter,
@peter@gassner.io avatar

@loleg Very cool website!

peter,
@peter@gassner.io avatar

@urlyman @loleg I agree, progressively enhancing it would have been low hanging fruit, especially now that we have the details element …

Oleg already refined my statement, which, as it turns out, was a bit imprecise 😅 So, what I find cool about it is:
• Having all these cool stories in one place
• How it provokes questions with the striked through keywords
• The graphic design
• That each woman’s story can be shared with an image
• That all stories have a source

peter,
@peter@gassner.io avatar

@urlyman @loleg I think it's fine to not judge too harshly: we don't know anything about the context this was created in. Maybe it was a hackday, maybe it was an intern's first project, maybe someone wanted to experiment with a new tool, etc.

It could be massively improved, yes, but it looks like someone's project of the heart and I'm happy it exists 🙃

peter,
@peter@gassner.io avatar

@NatureMC Certainly, but to me it's not as important to understand how •exactly• the website came to be, but to be open to the idea that there might have been constraints we haven’t considered looking in from the outside. I trust they did their best given the constraints 😀

In ‘news that should surprise nobody but it’s nice to have it quantified’: high speed rail is less carbon intensive than short-haul flights, even when you take into account the full life cycle (including construction).

In other words, we should be banning short-haul flights and investing in trains.

@Brendanjones It‘s so stupid. We faced the same dilemma and decided to focus on the journey with an Interrail ticket, maybe that‘s something for you too :)

We were nervous at first because 50m below the slopes the snow ends(as in none at all).

I've just put this German news link through Google translate: a run-down of the protests and approximate attendance thereof across all 16 states of the Federation:

I'm looking for info on the Pro M3 machines.

I currently can plug my 2019 Air into a docking station with one USB C cable for power, 2 external monitors, ethernet, and USB peripherals such as cameras. Would that be possible with the latest machines?

P.S. I'm using a DisplayLink driver for the 2 external displays to have different contents. I'm hoping the new Macs could provide that natively.

peter,
@peter@gassner.io avatar

@gdinwiddie It‘s all these little uncertainties that are kinda important when buying such an expensive tool! You found your answer, but just to add that I run mine through a single USB-C cable all day and connect all the things to the monitor – works great.
