I had no idea Popular Science had been PE'd to zombification. I wondered why I had started seeing them appear in search results again and just assumed they'd invested in their web presence, when the truth is much worse. A shame, because they were once a great publication.

I use iPhone Lockdown Mode. There are occasional websites I need to individually go into setting for to disable the protections. But other than that no real impact.

The only one that’s going to ruin my life online is gonna be me.

Oh, crap! The use of the word "fash" for fascism suddenly made me realize that #Bowie 's "Fashion" is about fascism.

At some point, the search results in the Apple App Store stopped correlating with the search terms for certain apps. I believe that’s what @pluralistic means by “enshittification.”

It blows me away that I can type in a search term, and the App Store recognizes it, and even auto-completes it for me, but then shows me dozens or hundreds of apps that don’t match my term. 🤔
