I hate the English language! I mean, it's so easy to foul something up; accidentally reverse just two letters and the whole thing is urined!

pianomarian, to random

Hey what up?! ... That is all. The whole enchilada.

pianomarian,

Oh yeah! ... Anybody have a foggy freakin' clue exactly how to port my VoiceDream library (all 81 items) to Speech Central? I've spent the last two days combing through documentation from both apps, but no dice. I've got till May to move the lyrics of about 50 songs, plus various user manuals before the dream becomes a subscription nightmare. ... HE-E-E-E-E-E-E-ELP!

pianomarian,

@evilcookies98 That would fully ROCK! I'd seen that too, so I opened VoiceDream which showed me the popup that prompted my need to make the move. What really sucks wind is that they're not even offering a monthly option, and without going into details I'm in no way ready to make a yearly financial commitment right now or at any time within the next year.

pianomarian,

@evilcookies98 Operation successful! ... I was in the wrong location in the Files app! lol! A lot of things are gonna need renamed, but everything made it. I need to hurry up and make a recording using a voice I can only use in VoiceDream, but otherwise for all intents and purposes I'm effectively (and sadly) done with an app I'd been using almost since its inception.

That segue of your music player on shuffle that just can't be ignored and must be at least chuckled at: "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish" into "Exploding Fish!" lmao! @Onj @TheZooLady

Rolly-poly fishheads are never seen drinking capuccino in Italian restaurants with Oriental women!

Ok so I've done a thing twice and had it work well. Night before last was the first time I tried this thing. Waking up yesterday morning and finding my experiment worked made me think it was a fluke. When it worked this morning too, I'm like, "A lucky break!" If tomorrow morning I wake and it also works, I'll know it's really a thing. Before plugging in my phone for the night, I simply switch voices to the next one down on the rotor, which in my case is good ol' faithful Alex. Then, I plug in the phone and go to bed. Upon waking, I first unplug my phone, and good ol' Alex is still the voice greeting me with the time and, if sleep focus has turned off, the contents of my lock screen. I then go back to the previous language rotor setting I'd left last night, and behold, my beloved British Siri 4 is still there! If it still works tomorrow, I'll know for sure I've got myself (and you, dear readers!) a work-around for the dreaded Siri voice deletion thing; it seems to be tied, at least in my case, to plugging in one's phone. ... You're welcome!

pianomarian,

GOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING from this, the third day of my experiment! It's not a fluke. It's not just a lucky break. This is actually a thing, people! I just woke up for the day, let Alex greet me, pulled the rotor back up to where I had it, and "voila!" (I'm sure VO just mangled that!) Anyway, there you's go. @FreakyFwoof

pianomarian,

@FreakyFwoof I'm sorry, main! You'll have to read the top post in the thread; by the time I realized I wanted to tag you, it was too late and I had to do it on the reply. I've found a work-around for the dreaded Siri voice deletion thing. And I know you were fighting with it too, so tagged you. Sorry about the confusion.

I didn't know that cars could fart-on-demand. Today I proved to my son Jake that I'm still a very big kid at heart, but I have absolutely 0 shame.
Warning: Do not drink and drive. Especially do not drink and listen to this at the same time.

@FreakyFwoof
@TheZooLady @cookiejarradio OMFG! Crying laughing!

MY apple watch: "Time to stand. Stand up and move around for one minute ..." ME: Checks time, then stretches arms above head. ... WATCH: "You did it! You've earned another hour towards your stand goal!" lol!

@reverendbigdawg @radio Years ago, I lived in a house with mice so brazen they would actually play WITH the kittens!

sigh broke my NLS EReader today. I guess it was raining harder than I thought this morning, and water got inside the key mechanisms. So random buttons are pressed. So I thought I'd pull it out and let it dry. When I tried to put it back into the case, the case broke. So yeah that's great /s I can break anything, whether it be software or hardware.

pianomarian,

@devinprater @cublanco @SingingNala Re last: holy freakin' dictN fail, Batman! LMAO!

pianomarian,

@devinprater @cublanco @SingingNala Dictation fail! On my part, a failure to remember there's no "ation" contraction anymore! lol!

Today just reaffirms why I utterly loath quote-posting.

pianomarian,

@FreakyFwoof So ... ok ... Like, is Mona the only client that will read you both quote and quoted post? Because if so, I get it; I'd hate to have to click a million forty-eleven times just to figure out what was quoted. If that's not the issue, can you please help me understand why this is such a bane to so many many people?

pianomarian,

@simon @FreakyFwoof I actually DID peruse Andre's timeline for context/perspective. So I have a question about something you said in a thread, something about putting the mention at the end of a line. Pardon my abject tech stupidity, but ... how does one do that? ... Sorry, and thanks in advance.

Aliens arrive: we have killed your leaders and taken control of your planet.

Us: oh thank god

Aliens: you are now citizens of ... Wait what

pianomarian,

@alisca Re last repost: like, where the hell were these guys back in 2016?! lol!

I wonder if there's any kind of notable correlation between people who lost their vision as opposed to being born blind, and good spatial awareness. I lost my vision quite young, but I still had it long enough to grow up like a sighted todler, and I was born with full vision. And my spatial awareness is quite good. But then again, I've known people born blind with good spatial awareness, so who knows.

pianomarian,

@TheQuinbox I was born blind, and though I do have light perception and can see most colors with my left eye, pardon my French, but my spatial orientation royally sucks! Not sure why that is for me but not for a lot of my blind friends, but it is what it is I guess.

Now, I'm pretty sure I've posted this before in the Great Tome of Countenances (lol!) but I'm gonna put it here now too. ... There was a land where all babies had to a. be named by the male head of household and b. be named within fifteen minutes of birth. John was at work when his wife Mary called: "It's time! Meet me at the hospital." ... Well there was construction, then an accident, then a funeral procession, and by the time John finally got to the hospital, 35 minutes had gone by. When he arrived at the Labor & Delivery nurseS station, the nurse greeted him: "Great! You made it! Your brother was here and named the children for you. Oh by the way, congrats, you're the father of twins!" ... "O God!" cried John, "my brother's a huge practical joker! What did he name the first one?" "Denise," said the nurse. "Whew! Ok, and the second one?" The nurse replied, "DeNephew."

HOT update: I gave my eReader all night and most of the day, then tried to get wi-fi again ... SUCCESSFULLY!!! Logged into BARD with equal success, and downloaded three books, among them "The ABC's of UEB." ... Yay! Going out to the balcony to read, and try to figure out why I can't for the life of me nor the love of Reginald make myself stop trying to use dots 2-3-5 for the word "to!" I mean I know full well I can't do that anymore, but stupid muscle memory keeps taking my fingers there! GRRRRRR!
