The more tricky and clicky it is, the more shitty the people behind are. This is the lamest way (to try) to bypass rules and therefore pretty insulting to their audience. First contender: Arstechnica.com from Condé Nasty cult....
Video playing, ad that scrolls, two lines of a story, the bottom popping up with notifications every few minutes over the top of more scrolling ads....
I am trying to run a network cable for a AP but there is a new angled roof built on a old flat ashalt roof. I may end up drilling though the roof but I am curious if there are any other options to run a physical cable...
I’m trying to avoid drilling though the old roof. It is thick and made of blacktop. It would take a while to drill though and would pose a safety harazard due to low ventilation and heat
Lineage os has enough market share that many foss apps would add support for it. It then could be ported to other Roms so that we could have a Foss notification method
I used to feel the same way but now I’ve realized how mature android is compared to Linux phones. We should focus on developing free software replacements for google services such as push notifications. There are already plenty of free software apps for android that it makes no sense to start from scratch
I don’t understand why running a proprietary banking app is a deal breaker. It will never work and should never work for security reasons. The bank wants you device to be controlled and locked down by google so that you don’t get robbed if you lose your device. Putting your finances on a device with weak encryption and no locked bootloader is a bad plan as far as I’m concerned.
I know many people like continence but for me freedom is more important.
Basicly you may be able to reboot into fastboot and unlock the bootloader without changing any settings in the os. It really just depends on the device.
The problem is that lemmy isn’t showing new videos for any channel. I originally though this was a issue with this instance but it seems to be a problem lemmy wide
I’ve been using skiff. com for sometime, as they claim to be a fully privacy preserving app suite like GApps or proton. One thing I like is they provide 10GB storage even for free accounts, where proton eventhough much bigger provides only 500MB....
Howdy, everyone! I’ve been working on earning my CCNA. Since Cisco has made it screwy to import the Cisco Modeling Lab (CML) images into GNS3, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a license for CML....
The good news is Cisco is going to be held liable for human rights abuses in China. They helped the Chinese government develop tech to hunt down journalists, political prisoners and groups of people who aren’t liked by the Chinese government.
Btrfs gets a bad rap sometimes but I have been using it for years and it works very well. It is able to take failing hardware and power outages and still has good performance.

Is it possible to add a icon and background image for this community?
A cool theme would add a lot to the appearance of this community

Am I the only one that wishes lineage os had a Foss and private implementation of notifications?

How many of you use a custom ROM on your phone?
I personally have been using lineage os for some time now and I am curious how many others use F-droid and lineage os like I do

Btrfs is a great filesystem for proxmox in raid 1. Stop telling people not to use it

Garry Newman: The new Unity pricing would have cost him $410,000 of lifetime revenue (i.vgy.me)
This is of course not including the yearly Unity subscription, where Unity Pro costs $2,040 per seat (although they may have Enterprise pricing)...
