possiblylinux127,

Cookies really aren’t that concerning. You can clear them anytime

possiblylinux127,

Use a Firefox based browser with ublock origin. I use mull

possiblylinux127,

I’m trying to avoid drilling though the old roof. It is thick and made of blacktop. It would take a while to drill though and would pose a safety harazard due to low ventilation and heat

possiblylinux127,

That’s what I use but it would be better supported if it was commonly installed on most Roms. That would be likely the case if lineage os supported it

possiblylinux127,

Which is exactly why it should be preinstalled

possiblylinux127,

I used to feel the same way but now I’ve realized how mature android is compared to Linux phones. We should focus on developing free software replacements for google services such as push notifications. There are already plenty of free software apps for android that it makes no sense to start from scratch

possiblylinux127,

I don’t understand why running a proprietary banking app is a deal breaker. It will never work and should never work for security reasons. The bank wants you device to be controlled and locked down by google so that you don’t get robbed if you lose your device. Putting your finances on a device with weak encryption and no locked bootloader is a bad plan as far as I’m concerned.

I know many people like continence but for me freedom is more important.

possiblylinux127, (edited )

Have you tried unlocking bootloader without OEM unlocking enabled? It works on some devices.

possiblylinux127,

I personally like lineage os because it is clean and minimal. Calyx os comes with way to many apps preinstalled

possiblylinux127,

Is mobile banking that popular of a thing? Couldn’t you just go to the bank? Or for that matter you could just use the website

possiblylinux127,

I fixed my previous comment.

Basicly you may be able to reboot into fastboot and unlock the bootloader without changing any settings in the os. It really just depends on the device.

Tried the @Vivaldi browser. A good example of when "the more the better" doesn't work. Sure it is an IMHO.

Still very interesting. Having your emails and calendars integrated into a browser is a good alternative when OS-built-in tools for this are crap.

Now back to @firefox.

possiblylinux127,

Why did you include so many hash tags

possiblylinux127,

The problem is that lemmy isn’t showing new videos for any channel. I originally though this was a issue with this instance but it seems to be a problem lemmy wide

possiblylinux127,

You broke it. Now apologize to the lemmy masterlords.

(Joking)

possiblylinux127,

Both Tutanota and photon mail are proprietary

Edit: Apparently Tutanota us working on becoming librejs compliant

possiblylinux127,

The good news is Cisco is going to be held liable for human rights abuses in China. They helped the Chinese government develop tech to hunt down journalists, political prisoners and groups of people who aren’t liked by the Chinese government.

At least they will suffer

possiblylinux127,

I don’t know who Jim is but I just call it butterfs
