Die Frage ist nicht, wie wir die AfD-Wählenden davon abbringen, AfD zu wählen. Wer bis heute den Knall nicht gehört hat, wird ihn auch nicht mehr hören.

Die Frage ist leider, wie viele Nichtwählende wir überzeugen können, dass ein Abrutschen in Hass und Dummheit so eine schlechte Idee ist, dass man vielleicht doch nicht mit „Hände inne Tasche“ zusehen mag.

@ecoli Die politische Statistik sagt aber, dass das so ist - und hier in der Stadt ist das auch nachvollziehbar. Die lokalen Kids hier in Kreuzberg sind teils politisch desillusioniert - da interessiert sich kaum noch wer für‘s Klima, weil „die Bonzen scheissen da eh drauf, also mache ich das auch, weil sonst wird nix aus mir, weil man muss sich durchsetzen“. Sehr andere Realitäten.

@linuzifer Meine Frage ist: warum machen die anderen Parteien so hohldummes Marketing, und versuchen garnicht die Jugend inhaltlich zu erreichen? Ich habe jedenfalls keine Spots gesehen die das ernstlich versuchen, während die AfD einfach das Blaue vom Himmel verspricht.

@linuzifer Deine Verteidigungslinie („nehmt die Hände aus den Taschen“) fällt IMO auch in diese Kategorie. Moralische Argumente gegen die AfD interessieren die Kids auf der Straße hier nicht. Die hören oft nur die Versprechen, und wählen danach - auch, weil die anderen Parteien gar keine machen an die man gut glauben kann.

@roy @ecoli @linuzifer Ich würde hier zwischen der Bürgerschaft/Mitgliedschaft und der Führungsebene der Parteien unterscheiden. Dass die teils korrupt ist wird ja niemanden mehr verwundern. Fragt sich nur, warum die Basis sich die Macht nicht wiederholt.

@mutax @mcfly Das ist IMO durchweg korrekt. Es gibt so ein Establishment, insbesondere im Bereich der Sicherheitstechnik. Auch andere Länder sind in diesem Bereich eher etwas konservativ und lokalorientiert. Selbst die Estischen Smartkarten-Lösungen wurden so weit wie möglich lokal engineered (!).

@anneroth Beim Congress limitieren wir Sponsoring relativ stark. Es gibt aber welches, zum Beispiel im Bereich Internet-Anbindung. Da setzen wir auf eine strikte Trennung von Präsentation, und machen Review auf die Stories der Sponsoren. Das geht aber auch nur, weil wir da relativ privilegiert rangehen können. Ob die re:publica ihre Sponsoren wirklich braucht halte ich für fraglich.

These AI SEO spam operations have used lists of common searches to ensure that their pages come up first in searches in the “long fat tail” the kind of search where it used to be about 50/50 if you’d find a page addressing your needs. But, it used to be if you found something like “The top 15 smallest ants in the world” it wouldn’t be nonsense. It’d either exist and be the work of another person who cared OR you found nothing. Not so now! I can’t possibly over-stress how bad this is! 1/

@aadmaa @futurebird I don't see myself as pessimistic - more like noting change that I can't escape myself.

I see "pre-Bologna" European academic culture as something that we left behind, but might still consider to understand its upsides - like a tendency to standardize that our current liberal order tends to lack.

Information access at the moment seems terrible to me, but we can probably compensate. Some people are working on it, I'm sure.

@futurebird As a dropout I'm an autodidact, but I don't think that anyone can follow in my footsteps anymore because the academic Internet no longer exists (or can't be found, where it does). There are other ways to learn, but people will have to be fervent (maybe not more or less than me, but in a different way).

@benni @Volksverpetzer Außerdem importiert Elon mit Tesla seine persönliche Raubbau-Kultur. Von daher kann ich den politischen und kulturellen Widerstand durchaus verstehen. Sozial ist mit dem halt nicht, weil er es nicht versteht.

Das Gefühl der Unsicherheit steigt in Berlin.

Alle, die nicht in Eigentums- oder Genossenschaftswohnungen leben, haben Angst, aus ihrer Wohnung zu fliegen und einfach keine mehr zu finden.

Dass ist aber nicht die Sicherheit, die CDU und SPD meinen. Mieter*innen sind ihnen egal.

@anneroth In meinem Haus gibt's noch was für etwa den doppelten bis dreifachen Sozialsatz - ist auch sehr praktisch, ohne Fenster die man putzen müsste. Und mich wundert, dass wir noch nicht rebellieren weil die Politik das völlig ignoriert.

SD cards are the literal worst.

they've expanded to be the size of small hard drives, and devices like the rpi keep using them as boot media, but they:

  • use garbage tier low endurance flash cells internally
  • have little to no overprovisioning for wear
  • perform only the most basic wear levelling
  • have no protocol level integrity checking
  • have few internal error correction features, if any
  • decay comparatively quickly without patrol scrubs
  • do not perform patrol scrubs
  • cannot do PLP

@gsuberland most embedded software, in comparison, will be like „YOLO“ - it doesn’t even check itself. so we did lots of custom things in PLCs…

Okay, , ich brauch mal nen Labeldrucker.

Anforderungen:

  1. Eigene Tastatur/Display, mit der ich ohne weitere Geräte Standardlabels drucken kann.
  2. Kann per USB angesprochen werden, um Standardlabel oder Bitmaps von Linux zu drucken (CLI tooling oder einfach nur ein USB-Serial-Socket + Protokollspezifikation würd mir reichen).
  3. Kein DRM auf Tapes und keine Anzeichen vom Hersteller, so was einführen zu wollen.

Wegen 3 seh ich nur Brother, dort aber nix, was 1 und 2 kann. Gibts da noch andere?

Most digital cameras are designed to record color, using a special mask in front of the sensor called a "Bayer filter". This allows color information to be derived from the raw sensor output, which otherwise would just record brightness. But the Bayer filter can also reduce effective resolution of the image a bit.

So what's the tradeoff?

@dan131riley @mattblaze @reinoudk yes - my old little Canon 1000D could do it on Linux, but model support can be an issue with the required tools. i used that setup for macro, and it‘s also very cheap. 😁
