@rasterweb@clolsonus not necessarily. on a recent trip to Duluth I had my wife drop me off at the top of the plateau. not just to ride back down, i did 110 miles or so, but Munger Trail once up on the plateau is amazingly flat. Minneapolis is pretty flat but I couldn't get a 100 mile course that's nearly as flat. Plus, it's entirely paved. it's cracked and buckled but I've definitely ridden worse.
the point was to set a 100-mile PR, which I did by about 30 minutes, with my first sub-6 century.
@rasterweb ah! I was trying to figure out if that’s a silicone casing gone wrong… and wondering why is the nozzle oozing sideways… it is essentially a large lump of failed print ☹️☹️☹️
I wanted to see all of my recent illustrations in one place, but also make a nice index to the blog posts I write up, so I made this page... and added some info in case anyone wants a print or something.
@grimmy Oh yeah, switching could come in handy as well... anything to lower the amount of waste. Do I just need to load up the same color in all slots and set to the same color in software? Or is there something else to make it work?
@rasterweb yep. It should auto switch although I've had issues where the same color was slightly different so it didn't auto switch, but then I just put the new spool where the old one was and hit play/continue/whatever on the display.
My latest batch of handmade paper is done. There's one sheet on the left that has not been pressed, and a stack on the right that has been pressed and has a very smooth surface. (Ready for more relief prints!)
@rasterweb I remember doing something similar at school in grade 4. We all brought lint from our parents' dryers, and used that and some wood-framed screens to make some [iirc] pretty thick, rough paper. Then we made simple fountain pens out of straws, and used blueberries for ink.
Always wanted to try that again (but actually produce something usable lol), but never did get back around to it. No time like the present, though, right?
Aldi doesn’t have everything I need but I can walk out with three bags of chips, a jar of salsa, and two chocolate bars for less than $13 USD so that’s something.
