It’s that time of year where you bust your ass working outside on the weekends around the yard, and then you can’t wait to get back to work Monday because it’s less strenuous…
@kancept Good to hear. I guess I am more concerned about companies like Adobe and Microsoft baking it into every single product they have, and not giving users the option to disable it.
@rasterweb yes, that I agree with. My AI is local and I chose to install it. Not forced in as part of a product with telemetry to train on my data. That’s why I razed my Reddit profile years ago and never contributed to StackOverflow. I don’t need AI trained on my garbage. Now, I don’t disagree with AI training as a whole, it’s the charging for access to what is contributed as open in the first place. It’s beyond providing a public service like a library.
Someone told me that Chat-GPT saved them hours of work...
My response: If Chat-GPT is saving you hours, are you now able to work less hours and instead spend that time doing other things? That should be the primary goal of AI... Give humans more time to do as they please, not just cram even more work into the same amount of hours.
@rasterweb well said. Ask them: what did you do with these hours that AI saved you? If the answer is “more work”, then it didn’t save you hours at all; it saved your employer hours instead.
New sketch! It's the classic Apple ]+, the first computer my family ever had... 40+ years ago I got my start with programming and computer graphics on one of these.
@rasterweb my cat Zara is very affectionate but even she has her limits. I think of her more like a roommate I am caring for while she experiences psychedelics for the first time. All the time.
"Whoa, come see this!" She will call out. If I go to her, it will be an open window and some birds outside.
"Dude, DUDE, DUUDE!" She will yell as I sleep. Rolling over to gather myself she looks at me excitedly to order pizza.
