There's multiple facets to miniature photography which I really enjoy, lighting shots to try to replicate the real world or creating a more stylised shot, it's a balance to get right like this Iron man shot, the first image was done recently I wanted a more photo realistic feel to my lighting on this, the 2nd image I did last year, I wanted that to look more fantasy, I'm equally proud of both & it shows how a different lighting approach can completely change the mood & look of a figure & scene

Any individuals out there that offer 3D printing in the UK? I'm looking for some tiny props, walls etc and wondered if anyone out there does anything like that. Happy to paint them myself.
@robotwig Unfortunately I'm not in the UK, because my printer has become a lot more available since I'm past the “print all the useless but cool gadgets” phase.
I can give some advice though. For smaller detailed parts, a resin printer will be more suited than a filament printer. Especially when taking photographs where lighting matters, the typical layer lines could be annoying. They can be hidden through primer/filler and sanding, but resin prints will require much less preprocessing.
@DrLex Thanks. I think it might be more complicated and expensive than I had hoped, I'll just have to go back to respraying some odd bits from eBay until my finances are in a better situation

One year ago today I posted this miniature Return of the Jedi shot I created using practical effects, figures and miniatures. Luke is actually in the shot and wasn't added in digitally he was done using the Peppers ghost technique by reflecting him in a piece of glass then I digitally added a beam from R2 to finish it off.
