I am watching Sailor Moon S: The Movie now, my first entrance into any Sailor Moon anime. I had recently read the short story manga that the movie is based on.

And, frankly, this may be the greatest anime of all time for this scene alone.

@mdmrn Coincidentally I was thinking about this movie on and off last week! I watched it so many times back in the day that I'm sure if I see the movie opening again (those distinct notes playing over the Toei logo) I'll start crying :neofox_cry:

Randomly realized in a thread about Eminence in Shadow on Reddit that Kadokawa does have its full financial reports online.

Looks like Oshi no Ko is killing it, and I'm surprised that My Happy Marriage is #2, maybe lots of people are watching it on Netflix, and just not talking about it, or buying lots of copies of the BluRays... hrrm... :leafeonmoney:

@anianimalsmoe Re: My Happy Marriage, imo the anime benefited from the popularity of the novels (and to some extent, the manga, but itโ€™s really the novels). It even got a live action movie and a musical this year.

All of Namie Amuro's music has been scrubbed globally online. Gone from YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

No word on if this is on Amuro's side or AVEX. But Amuro hasn't been seen or heard from in over 5 years.

If you have her CDs, rip them now for backup. If you don't... well however you decide to acquire her music going forward, this is a judgement free zone.

@gnitro Had a song of hers on a playlist in Apple Music and can confirm itโ€™s gone. Not even grayed out like what happens when albums are region-restricted. They kept her profile up but the only related songs are the ones that have her as a guest singer (or sample her songs).

@anianimalsmoe I think shows like Sazae-san, Chibi Maruko-chan, Detective Conan, Kochikame etc. have had guest performances from singers at some point. Found some Popples drinking glasses from 1986 via Goodwill. They feature Puzzle Popple and P.C. Popple.

They need a good soak and washing... at worst they'll get a single dishwasher cycle if needed.

Either way, I'm hyped at this find XD

The 2023 version of Takeshi's Castle is a mix of old school and Wipeout. Its also very lenient in letting people pass if they all fail on the first obstacle ๐Ÿคฃ. It's super hilarious though. 2 episodes in and I'm loving it

It popped up on local Netflix so I tried episode one and what is up with this art direction, framing the most mundane sequences in dynamic angles? Also what is up with this POS human? She doesn't deserve the cat, I deserve the cat.
