"nine out of ten autistic women victims of sexual violence."
I do run into autistic men sometimes, that feel victimized. And there are many reasons for that, that we don't need to discuss. Just sometimes they start crying about girls having it easier. I know. you laugh, but it still happens. And there's also those neurodivergent men who suffer from not being able to be trad. men. Living up to toxic standards. And they get all bamboozled and start believing, women have an easier time. You laugh. But again. It happens. That's why I'm linking this paper, again. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35558435/
Some neurodivergent white males have never thought about intersectionality. I raised my kid in a poor neighborhood. The amount of misogyny that rains down on a female baby that acts out, screams, causes trouble, displays aggression, is ridiculous. There is a reason for female autistic masking. Which, together with gender data gap ( misogyny ) creates the four in one ratio in diagnoses of autism. The reason for masking is survival. And survival gets more difficult with each intersection you have in your life. I don't want to explain this time and again. Please, autistic males, get your colleagues up to speed.That's why I'm posting this.

Greetings from an autistic man that was sexually assaulted at age 12, for their first sexual experience

Then had their mother gaslight them about it to protect her gravy train...

Only now four decades later am I able to envision what life is like for people who don't have the truth daily conditioned out of them

Remember the Hite-report?
you'd probably have to be over ffity for that. Revolutionary feminist sexologist Shere Hite, who fled the US after extreme backlash to her now widely accepted research and , as this description makes me think: fellow neurodivergent.

alexpsmith,

@samid @actuallyautistic And we haven't even come very far. Women are STILL faking orgasms to seem "normal" because society still hasn't accepted that we require clitoral stimulation, and that penetration alone won't cut it. I never thought about the neurodivergent aspect.

neither did I, but this account is very personal and it sounds a bit familiar, also the bisexuality and the whole being different on every level and taking the unorthodox approach to everything, the strong sense of justice, the dancjng to her own melody...

the binary is an illusion . Smile and let a flashflood of love run through all parts of you if you agree😀. We are not binary. And I mean us, the human race. We never were. We are just playing with polarities. And it's fun. I used to do ballroom dancing. It's great fun. It was even more fun when I started doing it with women only. Playing with the roles. Why can't we all be this flexible and whole? We have lots of different currents of emotions and conciousness inside of us. Not all of them express in gendered physical form. Gender is not a club to beat people into shape with. Patriarchy made it so. But that's just dark age violence. Gender is there for us to have fun with and play. On all levels. mentally, emotionally and physically. Live itself isn't binary. It forms all kinds of relations and shapes. Circles, triangles, polymorphous forms. The binary only exists in the imagination of people that want consciousness to be stuck in one form. For reasons of power, control and fear. That's a very impoverished state of being. Even when I have a heterorelationship I am only really close to my partner If I allow myself to ditch the binary. Most progressive men will know what I'm talking about. As a neurodivergent person I am much closer to this understanding as I am likely to not understand this artificial divide anyways. We need to help the rest out of their corset of unhappiness. Really. Holding up the binary is like arguing about whether god is a he or a she. Utterly silly. I bet you all know this, but I just was dancing this morning, realizing how much damage this does to our bodies wholeness and I had to say it again. It was latin and that culture is so steeped in this and I had to find music that didn't represent that.

@actuallyautistic New years resolution:
there is so much creativity in our hyperconnected ways of perceiving reality. There is so much creativity in the was we set boundaries in order to live in this world. The process of learning this, makes us view the world from an angle, that would bring wonderful change, if we could share it with majority. I do realize the pain. Both from my own experience and from the vibration that surrounds me in our community. But it has nothing to do with being autistic. It has everything to do with being a minority. Being autistic in itself is a wonderful experience to me. I never wanted to be anything else. I just wanted the freedom to explore my own mind and to explore authentic ways of living. I think the only way forward for us is to be ever more autistic. As authentically as we can. There is so much more to discover. We have already established a new paradigm. But that's just a beginning.

hey, what are you doing when you don't have too many spoons left or just want to relax and enjoy but also nurture yourself a bit?
one of my favourite passive enjoyments is watching watercolor videos. What relaxes me so deeply is the sensitivity. And of course the neurodivergence that shines through. I just love love love watching women being besides themselves about the subtle difference from one hue to the next. And nerding out about pigment properties. And of course the visuals. flowing colours. With my favourite channels they often have one video where they come out as being autistic/ADHD. With others I just strongly suspect it.

I'ven just been sitting with sleep goggles for my eyes listening to the dish washer - quite soothing.

Otherwise I often listen to podcasts - half of the time I tune in, half of the time I tune out, only listening to half of the content. I've been listening to entire books without listening to a single word - it is just background noise.ee

@actuallyautistic @samid

On YT I have taken a fancy to driving videos, with little or no talk - Wood turning videos are wonderfull and DIY channels like the "My First Boat" are brilliant. Also travel channels with little or less talk (There is a couple of "introvert" Japanese ones with no talk - also). Talking about japanese - there are a few introverts that film their every day, from they wake up til they go to bed - nothing really happens - it is honey for the soul.

are we falling in to darkness? Just read the news. All of that disinformation. The snark and hate that peaceful young activists get. Or a woman having an abortion. The way police is turning into a gang of thugs. And a lot of this is being organized on social media. We really need to make sure to block Meta/Threads as effectively as possible. This is one little place to connect with people in and not be hit with it. It saves lives. It saves the lives of minorites.

.. they pay more attention to detail. They feel more overwhelmed by too much stimulus, but they simultaneously hyperfocus for long periods of time. They also tend to be quiet introverts. And they’re more vulnerable to anxiety and depression... this article is not talking autism though, but calls it "sentinel intelligence". And connects it into how people deal with the hypercrisis of the world. https://www.okdoomer.io/youre-not-a-fearmonger-you-have-sentinel-intelligence/

@samid @actuallyautistic this was a very interesting read. I can identify with being "chronically hypervigilant". It's bloody exhausting! As opposed to what's in the article, I generally keep my warnings to myself because I know that people who are convinced they are right would never listen to me. Most people only want to listen to what they want to hear. This is sometimes quite upsetting really.

I'm cozied up with my new book "I will die on this hill" by Meghan Ashburn and Jules Edwards , with many other contributors It has raving reviews in the community, yet I was reluctant to buy it, cus I'm a bit religious about nurturing myself as just me, as the times where I was allconsumed are over and I've got some catching up to do. I'm only on page 66 and I already can't contain myself and have to share with you how much I like it. So far it seems the best one on the topic I've come across.

@dansup

After some careful consideration, I have decided to block threads.net on pixelfed.social and .art by default

However, users will have the ability to unblock the domain

Soon we will be selectively enforcing authorized fetch for accounts with domain blocks so as to provide the best of both worlds.

(I'm also shipping a command for :pixelfed: admins to easily add user domain blocks for all local users)

I'm eager to hear your feedback!

Most of us are mostly-clueless about this very weird fedi technology, and I've been pushing on it too. It's important! Looking forward to not having to worry about Meta! In the meantime, we fight!

ErikUden,
@ErikUden@mastodon.de avatar

@samid @ophiocephalic @dansup no, not at all! You're rather informing people (me) who sadly otherwise wouldn't have the time / wouldn't see it as a priority to do this. I've forwarded all of your resources to the actual geniuses behind mastodon.de (Nick & Rodirik) and I'm sure if they check the info we'll all reach the conclusion to activate Authorized_Fetch. It might not happen this year - but it'll be activated ASAP once we check all the info you've given to us and confirm that this (unlike as we have thought) will not be a big disadvantage / disconnect many services. If it's only about some DMs sometimes it should be fine (especially if, through more awareness, those *key instances fix the issue).

Additionally, the question of AF isn't just about Threads, but every other block we've made.

Still, I'd love for there to be the option to, as an admin, make certain defeds opt-out. Imagine you as a user could just disable the Threads defed if you really wanted to interact with those users! I think that'd be the best of both worlds, sadly only Pixelfed has this feature as of yet.

Regardless, thanks for your work! I highly appreciate it. Truly do, sorry for being the misinformed admin here 🙏

hi.

so, I learned that can not only get your posts, even if you blocked them (via different servers that didn't and that store your posts cus people there may follow you or interact with you), they can also monetize those posts by showing ads next to them. Thus making money off of you. Put that together with all the genocidal and fascist and other harmful activity. It makes me think that the of the has begun. The cycles seem to move faster and faster. I love it here and I've had many elightening convos and beautiful connections. Today I read that 41% of servers have blocked threads. Maybe there is still hope.
Esp. the neurodivergent community on here is the best I've ever experienced.
