Computer programmer older than I look but not too old to waste time talking about random #sci-fi and/or #boardgame topics.

I blog at https://sheep.horse because horse domains are too stupid not to use.

I sometimes hang around on #metafilter.

Physically located somewhere near #Boston, MA

I will Favorite, Boost, Follow and Unfollow based on nothing but a whim, don't read too much into it.

Hopeful read from @sheephorse this morning, via @andypiper.

The Old Web never died, at least not completely, and you can always get a little bit of it back by putting a little Niceness out there. https://sheep.horse/2024/4/save_the_web_by_being_nice.html

@developerjustin thank you. Mine is not an original thought but I think it is important to articulate occasionally that we are not beholden to the aims of google or social media companies. We can spread whatever sentiments we want via an encouraging word and public ally recommending things to others.

The Festival of has finished and the results are in.

Congratulations to the two Best in Show ribbon winners, @autumn for Social Democracy: An Alternate History and Agnieszka Trzaska for The Trials of Rosalinda.

You can play both of these, plus all the other games (including mine) here:

The latest article by @molly0xfff (whose writing I always enjoy) coincidently compliments my Save the Web by Being Nice article from a few days ago.

@dimpase @amoroso I actually really liked the design of Google+ and thought it could do well. But they should have integrated reader and G+ together rather than get rid of reader. A lost opportunity for Google that gave Facebook the crown.

The important question:

Who out there believes beans are not vegan?

And do they believe there’s an animal out there made out of beans?

sheephorse,
@sheephorse@mastodon.online avatar

@atomicpoet This is one of those "Peanuts, may contain nuts" situations where the sign looks nonsense but actually is informative.

Refried beans are often (usually) not vegan because they are cooked with pork lard or bacon fat for extra deliciousness. The beans in your picture have not been.

According to research, the average podcast listener eats 6 nutritious and easy to prepare meals a day while sleeping on a pile of mattresses 4 high.

They need that sleep because they spend their days making Squarespace sites over multiple VPNs.

Then, in the evenings, they call various mental health hotlines to get help for their crippling addiction to sports betting before winding down by listening to eight hours of true crime.
