Idea for an email client extension.

Set a time limit to finish and send an email. If you go over that time a scream starts in the background - really subtle at first but gets progressively louder and higher until you send the email.

SEO folk are going to rave about @screamingfrog Spider v20 having Chat GPT to write image alt tags (I'm interested in that but lets see how good it actually is at providing correct accessible alt text and not SEO alt text) but for me the biggie is the N-grams Analysis!
(and also the carbon footprint appeal's to my eco warrior side).

Was planning on doing some gardening yesterday but as it was a bank holiday it rained, a lot.

So drew up plans for a new log store, specified all the materials and costs. Got it to under £400 which was a win. Don't actually need any new tools to make it either, so a little silent sigh inside.

Hope to get this built before the next rainy bank holiday end of May.

It's not just computers that are crap rubbish technology. Look at this daft toaster from Tesco that is too small too accommodate standard Tesco own brand bread. I might stick a React sticker on it.

Cautiously optimistic about the iPad event today. It feels like we might get more than just spec bumps.

Like in this article, I’ve really tried the whole ‘iPad Pro as main computer’ scenario. It was faster and lighter than my Mac, AND I could draw on it. But then the M Macs came out, and my 15” MacBook Air is thinner, lighter and more screen space than my 12.9” iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard. AND I can run a web server on it.

Don't get me wrong, this is a real problem, but any content site that doesn’t cache its pages is likely to get knocked over if it publishes something popular. CMSs don't make this as easy as they should, & it's v difficult for some types of content, but once pages are cacheable it's free/cheap to cope with big traffic spikes https://news.itsfoss.com/mastodon-link-problem/

I think this is a good thing. Either they are a non-profit in Germany or in the U.S., but their mission stays the same.

People like to make a big fucking deal out of nothing. The new board of directors includes Biz Stone, of Twitter-fame. Just because he’s on the board doesn’t mean that the open source, FEDERATED, project is going to got to shit.

I think people just like to complain. The good thing about the Fediverse is exactly that… federation. You’re NOT stuck on one instance or even one flavor of service to stay in touch with people.

If Mastodon does go to shit, guess what? Check out the other Fediverse projects. Hell, start a WordPress blog and connect it to the fediverse.

I get why people are nervous, but is it necessary? Maybe? I don’t see it though.
