Spare me the wall to wall bleeding heart coverage of the Israeli music festival. Palestinians are malnourished (the current generation of children is stunted from malnutrition), they live in overcrowded poverty, 45% are unemployed, they are surrounded on all 4 sides in what amounts to an open-air prison; they have no access to their homeland, let alone a nice music festival in the desert. Netanyahu is responsible for those music festival deaths.

On ABC radio this morning there was news of a rehab facility housing male perpetrators of ... yes, they remove the MEN from the home, not the WOMEN and CHILDREN. This is the sort of thing our federal govt should be funding. It makes so much more sense, for so many reasons.

Anyone here ever had to claim on their comprehensive car insurance for a stolen car? The process we are being put through is becoming more convoluted and I'm wondering if this is standard procedure. Four weeks in and we are no closer, after a simple theft of a vehicle we owned. Pls boost. Kthxbai.

I really do wish Masto would make ppls' location more of a thing. It should be opt-out rather than opt-in. I'm tired of trying to track down ppl's country of origin for things like gardening, politics, for-sale items, missing persons, even just locations of lovely landscapes. I don't usually follow ppl whose location is a mystery but of course boosted toots in one's feed is the problem. Sigh...

This longstanding one-sided coverage of the Israel/Palestine situation is infuriating. For decades the Israelis have illegally occupied, persecuted and killed Palestinians (including children), and where was the outrage? I don't condone Hamas' actions at all, but a bit of balance would be good. And what's happened to Labor's stance on Palestine since May '22?? Just crickets and sucking up to that fascist Netanyahu and his apartheid state.

Katy Gallagher speaking this morning about the rising number of women being murdered. Still framing it mostly in terms of support services for affected women, rather than making it a men's problem. Men need to be at the forefront of prevention and culture change.

Three lovely days with the grand daughters, can't get enough of them. Haven't stopped for a minute, as both parents have been WFH all the while. They've headed off to the inlaws nearby for the next few days and we'll see them again on the weekend. So I have just sat down for a rest, and the (non-covid) bug I've been battling for over a week has just hit me like a brick. Drugs, rest, peace and quiet... not a moment too soon. 😒
