On ABC radio this morning there was news of a rehab facility housing male perpetrators of #DV... yes, they remove the MEN from the home, not the WOMEN and CHILDREN. This is the sort of thing our federal govt should be funding. It makes so much more sense, for so many reasons. #ViolenceAgainstWomen

I am living with abuse /neglect and can’t do this anymore.
Someone I know in the #GTA who’s #trans and that is a victim of domestic violence. I need to connect that person to resources that can help her get the person assaulting her out of her life.
Fortunately, she is the only one with a legal right to live at her residence. Unfortunately, the abuser is threatening to escalate things.

The funds from GoFundMe began arriving today. Apparently it's coming in several payments. But I've already got my new phone ordered, bought luggage, and paid off my personal bills. When all that shit went down I was living in a #DV relationship and I was already very suspicious that #Johnny was being abused by #Amber. The marked deterioration in his health, and other poor decision making since meeting her, was crystal clear and a mirror to my own situation which scared me. It was sickening watching Cluster B's around the world celebrate his decline, while Amber's smiles just got wider as she radiated with the attention brought by her marriage to #Depp - a valuable source for the narcissistic #supply she endlessly craves.
Johnny is a seasoned professional who was visiting Australia for work, as he had done many times before. He was severely injured by #Heard during his stay here. I would not be at all surprised if that fight was about her illegally bringing the dogs into the country without his prior knowledge, and her wanting him to lie about it. It was obvious, to anyone paying attention, that Johnny was making excuses for his abuser's deliberate and unlawful actions, in the infamous Customs hostage video where they both "apologised".
Seeing the terrifying harsh reality of Johnny's deterioration laid stark before me, and feeling the mental and physical repercussions from being targeted by spousal abuse for two decades, I was motivated to separate from my husband soon after all that went down. I was happy to hear of their divorce. I was triggered, but not surprised, by her efforts at #triangulation after the split, pretending to represent victims of domestic violence.
She lied about all these things and continues to avoid any real consequences, never needing to concede any responsibility or remorse for her actions or behaviour. Victims of abuse just want to end the ordeal ... they want No Contact ... they certainly don't want to send messages provoking their abusers. I'm sick of textbook #narcissists being allowed to get away with shit over and over again, and their (willfully) ignorant flying monkey's who enable abusers to continue their mistreatment and manipulations of others. #Enough is Enough.
US lawyers are fighting for court reform on behalf of many mothers because what’s happening violates federal civil rights law: Family courts routinely deny women’s constitutional right to due process and some have lost their children because of it.
Many women, and family court reform advocates, call this an abuser’s modus operandi: They obtain an emergency protection order and often custody of children—then that “temporary” order becomes permanent.
Amendments to Singapore's Women’s Charter were passed on Tuesday (Jul 4) with the aims of better protecting victims of family violence and giving the government more powers to deal with such cases.
The existing definition of “family violence” has been updated to make clear that it includes physical, sexual, emotional and psychological abuse. The “egregious” forms of controlling behaviour would now be considered emotional or psychological abuse.
Aunty has been safety relocated in another jurisdiction. Now we are working around the clock to secure palliative care and permanent safe affordable housing near a hospital.
Safe affordable housing is at a crisis in this country so we won’t be able to secure housing for Aunty quickly. Because of this we need to continue to raise funds to pay for private rental which is expensive. So please keep donating and sharing.
As I said goodbye to Aunty to travel back to Meanjin she said surprisingly that she wanted to live. 🥲 This broke my heart 💔 and made me smile as we cried together. It was hard to say goodbye.
Aunty has many people around her now who are caring for her and advocating for her medical needs and housing. We also have to return to her home and pack up her personal items and engage a removalist to transport to a storage shed. We will need to pay for this from the fund raiser as well.

Urgent reform needed to shield women and children from violence during custody battles
Family court systems worldwide are being impacted by “deeply embedded gender bias”, leaving women and children vulnerable to violence and “immense suffering”, says Reem Alsalem, UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women, in a report to the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
A history of intimate partner violence against women was often neglected in family courts, with shared custody or parental authority treated as the default ruling, says Alsalem.
The report underscores that women face additional barriers when being accused of using “parental alienation” in part due to increased barriers in accessing justice as well as negative stereotypes.
It says that the use of the unfounded and unscientific concept is highly gendered.
