I think Chadwick Boseman’s death should be a lesson not to judge marginalized people who choose to conceal a health issue…

But Lloyd Austin hid two surgeries and only after being missing for a few days during his second procedure did anyone find out.

Plus the 911 call saying they’re keeping it quiet was sketchy.

I just don’t feel like he fully acknowledged the breach of trust, and his responsibility to ensure his temp replacement had some clue that they were in charge.

But that might be me missing something or not fully acknowledging that first point I brought up.

@Laukidh I don't really blame military brass trying to avoid personnel issues right now, with Republicans trying to destroy anything they might be able to. That was definitely my first thought: keep Congress out of things.

    I will say, do not underestimate how much mental energy that healing takes up. It may affect your performance elsewhere temporarily, or affect your ability to believe in your performance. It's normal and natural. Try to ride it out, and maybe enjoy being a himbo for a minute.

    I'm finally getting into my first edit of my novel, and I'm pleased with a lot of it so far. I definitely need to insert some things, and clean other parts up, but I like the writing and enjoy the characters. Phew.

    @anathema_device Like, I'm willing to change my mind on what a heart-healthy diet is, but Paleo has a lot of ground to make up with me. (And even if it proved to be more heart-healthy than, say, plant-based or Mediterranean, I doubt I'd start eating meat.)

    @anathema_device The good thing is that this is no emergency - because I'm vegetarian (or that's how I ascribe things), my bloodwork is pristine. My blood pressure has been high, probably due to a medication, but otherwise I'm doing well cardiovascularly.
