Middle Managers and 2nd rate psych students. But, having surveyed my undergraduate classes in the past, about 50% of them believe in astrology so it’s no wonder the Myers-Briggs speaks to them.
Might vary from school to school. The bigger thing is upbringing, many first gen kids don’t have that going into college so it’s more a task to teach critical thinking to them. More privileged kids get that out the gate, especially if they’re coming from private schools that encourage critical thinking and not following orders / memorization.
I teach at a place with mostly first gens, so thats how it is.
I mean, some people like BuzzFeed quizzes, but it’s easy to tell that it’s for entertainment, knowing they’re not scientific. When it’s an documented personality test with a long history, it’s easy to assume it’s scientific. But social sciences weren’t all that scientific until the last few decades, anyway.
People should be free to study what they want, and they usually don’t get to. That’s because school is about learning obedience to authority figures for your future supervisor. Not learning....
I teach at uni and instead of memes, I just make really dark throwaway lines. “Y’all need to turn this in on time. I can’t fail half the class… again”. That’s my least dark line this past week; I blame Craig Ferguson for me randomly adding “again” or “yet” to very dark or very flamboyant things.
Mind, I teach social psych, which covers stuff like aggression. Tagging on a “except that one time we don’t talk about” in regards to murder is just, idk, fun.
I mean, statistically, a few will probably die of COVID or from drinking bleach, etc., before November. I swear their death rates have gotta been one reason for retaking congress in 2020.
I’m already voting, and not even as an anti-trump vote. I’ve literally benefited from one of Bidens tax credits and he’s openly pro-union, which is rare for any dem (corporate sponsors being more lucrative).
It’s a minority opinion, but I don’t think he gets enough credit for the good domestic policy even if some of it doesn’t “stick” (like the EV credit being mostly Tesla lol)
Lean all in, wear an old civil war uniform (ideally Union but if you want some of that southern strange you could go Confederate) and work on your thousand mile stare. It’s like peacocking!
It’ll attract someone. (But I won’t be held responsible for the type of someone).
A dude in a full Fox fursuit is the face behind the string of shutdowns that slowed the nation to a halt. I can see it now, FBI dragging the poor guy out of his room, knocking over models and plushies off his desk as he struggles to get his message out to the public.
Yet, in the old days the only path to success was through shoving straight into a hole. Now a days (while having a Tetris 99 orgy) you have your T spins and your combos and your double T spins. It’s a T agenda conspiracy!
Funny they act like this is just them being on Trump’s side; it’s pretty clear Russians have supported their campaigns both with money and propaganda. Don’t bite the hand that feeds, as it were.
Be nice if we didn’t have the option to donate unlimited funds without ever having to disclose who you are…
Deeply? No, but you try and be funny or helpful and sometimes it offends someone because they read it a certain way (text can be ambiguous) and that can ruin a day for me. No good reason, mind you, but they can get really mean about it and what, do I apologize or fight? You didn’t exactly want to clarify for a jackass coming after you for no reason.
I’m also not highly fond of people when they correct you on stuff when it’s not really warranted. Lemmy does that a lot; you can’t always write a 20pg paper about a random comment to address every little facit of what you said, haha.
I mean, if you duel boot, it’s just a matter of time until Windows nukes your other OS. At least with me, my Linux was about to solve world peace, but Windows got wind of that and shut it the fuck down.
I still need to fix mine, thanks for the link. The weirdest break it did once was messing with my Wi-Fi driver, managed to break Linux’ driver somehow, making the Internet a no go. Still no idea how Windows managed that though, they shouldn’t be messing with my bios. :/
EPIC personality test. Which personality are you?!? (lemm.ee)
