It’s very exclusive and more intimate physically and emotionally than a good friend. That’s my interpretation anyway.

besides you know what). And should it be?

We’re adults here. You can say the word sex on the internet, and yes.

To me, it seems like you may not be the type of person that feels like they need intimacy. If you want it, however, then that should be ok too. That is a major difference (for many) in people who are in relationships, and people who are just good friends. It’s not the sole defining characteristic, no, but a big one none-the-less.

…they just want a one particular friend with benefits

Why can’t it be both though? I think there’s nothing wrong with that, in my mind. I suppose a big consideration would be if you live together or not, or want to/plan to.

Another thing to consider is that SO relationships are typically seen as more static/permanent while good friends are considered more dynamic/fleeting.

In my experience, relationships (all relationships) are more dynamic than static. Realities of our mortality.

technomad,

Well, maybe not.

#¯_(ツ)_/¯

technomad,

I definitely recognize some of the mods, and some of the key players in the communities that I follow. There’s good people here, and I believe it’s going to keep getting better.

I wasn’t paying attention to usernames as much when I first started. For whatever reason, I’ve started to pay attention to the names, as well as the instances. I like seeing where people are commenting from, and it even gives some insight into places or things I might be interested in as well.

Sometimes I’ll check out a person’s profile to see what things they’re commenting on. This feels kind of creepy a little bit. I don’t think anyone really cares though, so long as you’re not being abusive or something.

technomad,

agreed.

No. Honestly. I own one, but I haven’t been able to play it for reasons relating to my work and I’ve got a lot of buyer’s remorse about it too. That really sucks, but I really don’t feel like I have missed out on much as far as gaming goes.

My gaming laptop has been more than a viable alternative. I really wish I hadn’t been so impulsive with the purchase of my PS5. I genuinely feel like it wasn’t worth all the struggle it took to get it, and the financial loss/burden/degradation that it caused.

I’ve been considering selling it, for some time now, but I’m having trouble committing…

I’d love to hear your stories/advice, for any of you in a similar situation.

technomad,

As someone who always thought about getting into gaming as a career, i’m so glad i didn’t… it’s a shame that game developers are having to suffer through such a toxic industry, and that there aren’t more protections in place for these people that create the amazing experiences that we all love so much.

I hope that they are able to find new and better places of employment.

technomad,

Was it actually in the snow though? The accompanying picture makes it seem way more dangerous.

technomad,

They never said they pulled up their pants before washing their hands. Lol

technomad,
technomad,

Seriously though, one of my biggest pet peeves is when they get every other aspect of touch-less design correct, and then fail with the door.

Worse Than It Looks - Stoehr Machine Pistol (1970s) (lemmy.world)

You might be thinking how could this bullpup pan-fed automatic pistol possibly be worse. It is also a blow forward design. Meaning the barrel physically moves forward to operate the gun each shot. This significantly increases recoil, and in theory decreases accuracy....

technomad,

I really enjoy seeing these concept weapons.

Also, I didn’t realize that “forgotten weapons” is a video channel as well. That’s cool. I’ll be watching the videos now too.

Thanks for sharing.

technomad,

I know Kagi is generally well received, but I’d like to know what you all think about the maps implementation.

It looks like it uses Apple maps, which I don’t like, but at least it’s not google…

How do you all feel about it?

technomad,

Open street maps, right?

That sounds cool. How difficult was it to implement, for the lesser-tech-savvy? lol

Have you noticed any caveats?

technomad,

That’s what I needed to know, thanks for your input. The map integration is very important to me, as I depend on it for work.

I’ll be keeping my eye on this project.

…information I go straight to the service I see best fit.

What do you mean by that?

technomad,

I think that part of the reason why is that work has (many of) us so beat down anyway. I imagine there’s probably a certain amount of time where that tendency will dissipate and you’ll want to be productive again.

Fuck the 40 hour work week.

technomad,

That’s a cool design. It’s really good to see stuff like this becoming more common.

technomad,

What about a bionic eyeball? (serious question)

technomad,

Interested in the replies here.

I’ve got a cheap black and decker one that I’d like to replace (eventually). It works fine, but I’d rather have something with a smaller physical footprint and better quality.
