Tenacity @tenacity lists support for #macOS, but all the download links point to release lists that only mention Windows and Linux (however, the release notes mention macOS progress). Same is true for the installation instructions. I am too stupid to find the Mac packages?
I'd like to use Tenacity rather than #Audacity for my audio-visual projects (to use 100% #free software). Problem : I can't find the same effects as on Audacity, specially the #Compression and #Normalization effects. How can I find these #effects (and all the others)? 🤔
@nicolay_lilicre Did you upgrade from a previous version of Tenacity? If so, you need to delete pluginregistry.cfg and pluginsettings.cfg. This should fix the issue.
@tenacity Somehow I didn't find an answer to this, so I have this question: Do you track and port new features and fixes from Audacity? I saw the Audacity new release announcement about lossless pitch change and couldn't find out if Tenacity ported that feature.
@kamikazow it is in a way, but we're limited in resources and it's a little difficult because of how far we're diverging away from Audacity.
Take realtime effects for example. See https://codeberg.org/tenacityteam/tenacity/issues/330 and you'll see how many upstream PRs have to be implemented (there might be more needed later). Forget anything from 3.5 too.
I'm trying to record #audio in #tenacity and I keep getting clipped. How do I adjust mic levels? The guides I see for #audacity show a different UI and I'm not finding what I need in Tenacity.
Or do I just control that from the OS sound settings? That doesn't seem right.
@royal For now, you can control your mic levels from the OS. If you are looking for the mixer toolbar, Tenacity longer has it in 1.3.x. We're planning to reintroduce it at some point.
WTF? Is #Tenacity on the #Flatpak store #MALWARE? Apparently it was running in the bg AS IF it was an invincible #Gnome extension so SystemMonitor/htop would NOT see it as a process. But #MissionCenter (also from flatpak store) saw it as it is: an app running on startup! Killing it killed Gnome session! It was also spiking wifi, and was leaking the Gnome gjs service from 4MB RAM to 120MB. Uninstalling fixed the prob
@eugenialoli@sonny Tenacity has no reason to run in the background either. It shouldn't have background permissions either, but we'll investigate accordingly.
We have to give you guys thanks for such numbers. While it might not be an accurate indicator of the number of users, it's still mind boggling to see how many times Tenacity has been downloaded. You guys are awesome! 😄
