@Stephan I have used Fedora for about 8 years or more. My reasons are:

• It follows hybrid between rolling release and stable release
• It just works. I have enough work to do - don't want any hassle with my operating system. (that's why I dropped Arch - despite it being very interesting)

@vinzv Jepp, auch Schmuck, Armbanduhren,... Trinkflaschen etc... Alles was nicht in die Zeit passt, muss weg. Ich glaube nur bei Unterwäsche machen sie eine Ausnahme, solange sie nicht sichtbar ist? 😅

Übrigens wird extrem viel Wert drauf gelegt, dass die Teilnehmer authentisch erscheinen. Blondiert? Kurze Haare? Strähnchen? Dann biste raus.

Man kann die Teilnehmer also schon ein Jahr vorher erkennen... ;)

@bjo völlig unbedenklich. Bisher hatte ich nie den Eindruck "oh, das wird aber heiß". Nur wenn es viel rechnet, beispielsweise bei der Konvertierung von Videos, kann es warm werden. Aber nicht bedenklich. Ich habe dein Eindruck, Google hat einen Weg gefunden, die Wärme gut zu verteilen.

Falls inoffizielle Software die Funktionen vernünftig unterstützt ist natürlich auch ein Weiterbetrieb nicht ausgeschlossen ;)

@bjo zum A kann ich speziell nichts sagen, aber ich höre gutes und wenn ich das mal so extrapoliere, dann sollte das ein gutes Gerät sein ;)

Vor allem schnelle und lange Updates waren mir wichtig. Da kann im Android Universum höchstens noch Samsung mithalten, wenn ich richtig informiert bin. Bei den Top Modellen.

@derthomas anders als man vielleicht meinen könnte, war hier schon einiges los. Deutlich weniger zwar als jetzt, aber die Timelines waren gut gefüllt.

Es gab aber weniger Abwechslung. Oft dieselben Gesichter, die man in den Timelines gesehen hat. Das gefällt mir jetzt schon viel besser. Auch, wenn die alten Bekanntschaften manchmal etwas untergehen. Aber da können ja die sog. Listen von Mastodon helfen.

War ne angenehme Zeit, aber so, wie es jetzt ist, gefällt es mir noch ein bisschen besser!

@derthomas es gab aber sicherlich weniger gekünstelt "witzige" Posts (das ist von Twitter hierher geschwappt) und dafür mehr Nerdcontent ;)

@Kitty probably because new Reddit and Twitter limitations / enforcements :)

Twitter seems to have been quite unstable recently and they enforced new API limits. Same with Reddit: 3rd party apps now need to pay for data access.

@tschapajew wird so schnell (leider) nicht passieren. Das ist leider keine Konfigurationsoption, sondern ich muss dann auf einen Mastodon Fork umstellen, der sehr wahrscheinlich nicht so gut gepflegt ist / wird, wir das beim "Original" aktuell nicht der Fall ist. Die meisten Forks werden nur von wenigen Personen betreut. Das ist mir derzeit zu riskant. Mir ist ein zuverlässiger und vor allem sicherer Betrieb wichtiger.

Aber dennoch danke für die Anregung!
