@brihuang95 I self-host email, TinyTinyRSS, Wallabag, Nextcloud, Vaultwarden and Jellyfin. :)

I'd recommend Wallabag (bookmarks, archiving) and Jellyfin of you don't run them yet :)

Maybe a Pihole is interesting to you as well?

Das Zeug ist beeindruckend! Ich bastle damit gerade zum ersten Mal und hatte keine Probleme, ein Relaisboard fix an einen Raspi zum Laufen zu kriegen. Umfassende Doku, hilfreiche Fehlermeldungen... Und sehr gerade, die Firma kommt aus Deutschland und produziert hier auch. Wow. Unerwartet.

Der Weg von zu liefert ausreichend Probleme.

Ziel 1: Notebook komplett umstellen.

Status: Kind2 hat auf darauf einen Minecraft Server und Minecraft als Client. Beides für Linux verfügbar.

Server läuft tadellos. Client grundsätzlich auch. Mit dem eingeloggten Benutzer gibt es aber keine Minecraft-Lizenz. Denn diese ist Plattform-gebunden. D.h. Minecraft bei ich bei einem Umstieg von Windows auf Linux noch einmal kaufen.

Ich benutze seit drei Wochen nach 20 Jahren Abstinenz wieder Windows. Das System fühlt sich krude, lieblos und inkonsistent an, wie haltet ihr das aus? Selbst ein Gnome-Desktop macht mehr Laune. (Nicht zu reden von der Hardware, ein Lenovo L14 ist fett und ist warm, hat eine furchtbare Tastatur und Trackpad)

@ballaschk während meines Studiums hatte ich auch jahrelang nur Linux am Start. Als ich dann ins Berufsleben gestartet bin, kam wieder mehr Kontakt zu Windows. Das war ein ziemlicher Schock.

Reindexing the database ⏳

Sorry, I didn't see this coming tbh, but it seems to be required after an PG13 upgrade, so we can take adventage of the performance gains.

Metalhead.club will stay online, but performance will be really bad during reindexing. Thus, the site will respond slowly. Sorry for that. I hope it will be done, soon.

I considered reverting the instance to an earlier snapshot, but then I would need to implement the more complicated upgrade path (replication). it would not only consume time, but also cause some difficulties with storage etc.

Sooo for now I'll just leave it as-is and we'll have to deal with a much slower instance for a few hours (?). I hope that's fine with you.

Den Pürierstab hat jetzt endgültig das Zeitliche gesegnet, nachdem über die letzten Jahre schon Aufsätze die Grätsche gemacht haben. (Motor läuft noch, aber das Ding ist >12 Jahre alt, da gibts keine Ersatzteile mehr).

Falls also hier wer starke Meinungen zu Pürierstäben hat, wäre jetzt die Gelegenheit, sie anzubringen 👀

@rixx ESGE Zauberstab ist das einzig wahre. Ist vor allem seitlich nicht so blöd umschlossen. So kommt besser unters Messer, was unters Messer kommen soll 😉

Der von meiner Mutter lebt nun schon bestimmt 20 Jahre - wenn nicht sogar schon viel länger. :o

Btw: Some Mastodon components such as the DB have not been precisely fitted to the Full Metal Server, yet ;-)
