Anyone here running a only mailserver? I am wondering if the time is come to drop for my mailserver, but I guess not.

Anyone here running some stats on transmission and if remote hosts support IPv6?

@utzer I would strongly recommend against it. Most Mail servers are configured badly already and I'm sure the vast majority of them don't support IPv6. You will not be able to send email to several people and also not to receive any, eg. For web account confirmation.

I wish the situation was better, but after browsing my mail server log I wave the impression that such an IPv6 only mail server would not be useful in everyday life.

(eg. Web.de, t-online.de and Gmx.de do not support inbound IPv6)

Weiß wer von euch klugen und hübschen Menschen im zufällig ob eine Instanz mit Funktion, eben jene aufnehmen kann beim streamen so das sie dann automatisch als zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

So ein Serverumzug ist angenehmer als ein tatsächlicher. Geht deutlich weniger auf den Rücken. Leider muss man aber auch hier einiges zurücklassen.

Und damit erstmal: Musik! Fangen wir mit meiner letzten Neuentdeckung an: Temperance aus Italien. Erinnert erst mal an Amaranthe, ist aber deutlich epischer, hat hier und da mehr Folk-Elemente und ich finde ihre Stimme deutlich angenehmer.

@astefanowitsch ich habe mit den Dell XPS sehr gute Erfahrungen im Zusammenspiel mit Fedora Linux und Ubuntu gemacht. Die werden sogar offiziell mit Ubuntu verkauft, wenn man das will.

Creating Playbooks and roles for & Icinga Agent deployment.

They need some minor fixes, but all my containers are now connected to the monitoring server and already do basic checking.

I've been using Icinga before, but the Wireguard part is new and I took the opportunity to re-create my setup from scratch.

Feels calming to have stuff like this automated. I don't want to manually set up everything for 13 containers and 6 VMs. ;-)

€ 85 traffic cost in May 😩 hurts an bit. I need to admit that I underestimated the traffic volume when I signed the contract with the ISP.

need to add that we're paying €8 / TB. Which is a lot from my understanding. But we get a full dedicated 1 Gig port. No shared bandwidth.

Which was not the case with the old provider... That port was shared heavily.

Any opinions on the price? Is it fair? Or too much? I don't have any other provider to compare to (for dedicated bandwidth).

@mariusor just did a quick calculation. It is about USD 0,25 / month / User.

Not sure if I should recommend that amount 😅 a small minority of users is currently taking the burden.

@onkelmarkus at least I was able to cut costs by shutting down the externally hosted S3 Bucket. Which is about 10 € / month. (and causes some in-/out traffic due to proxying on the main host, too!).

As May has been 50 % Scaleway S3 and 50 % own S3, the overall traffic should decline a bit. No more proxying to Scaleway needed anymore.

I'm curious if the next bill will be less shocking 🫠

@Catowl dahin gehen bei mir auch gerade die Gedanken... Gut, wir hatten wegen S3 Umzug noch eine Sonderlast diesen Monat, aber die sollte nicht so stark ins Gewicht fallen, wie ich mir wünschen würde.

Eine Möglichkeit wäre evtl, mal mit dem Provider zu sprechen, ob wir nicht auf weniger hohe Bandbreite umstellen könnten und ob das uns evtl etwas sparen würde. 500 MBit/s rum würden schon ausreichen derzeit. Sogar weniger. Aber da weiß ich halt noch nicht, was der ISP kann.

@onkelmarkus we had some additional traffic because the S3 Bucket was moved from Scaleway to Full Metal Server, but if I needed to take a guess, that'd be about 10 % of the total traffic.

I notice that my posts now have a relatively short half-life. That is, shortly after posting there is the most interaction. A few stragglers half an hour to an hour later. After half a day, almost nothing.

Apparently the timelines of most users are now well filled 🙃

Unser Lagerfeuer hat nicht funktioniert, weil das Holz noch zu feucht war. @HolzerTom hat dann angefangen, herumzuzündeln und dabei ist das Foto unten entstanden.

Irgendwie finde ich es von den Farben und der Atmosphäre her schön. Kam direkt so aus der Kamera - ohne Nachbearbeitung.
