I got my Wii from the basement and excuse me but wtf is this power supply lol
My GaN phone charger is about the same power output at like 1/8th the envelope.

Even for back then thats an insanely big brick.

I get the feeling that the US does not really have strong outdoor (illegal) rave culture?

You get these awesome outdoor sets by Marc Rebillet, hes going at it like the insane man he is and people are just sitting there on blankets on the lawn?!
No one is dancing???

Curtain rails work as a really cheap way to put normal ceiling lamps on a rail. I just ran some 0.75m² wiring through the slot and printed some chonkier slide hooks to hang the lamps onto.

a junction box infront of the curtain rail to distribute the power onto two smaller cables

timonsku, (edited )
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

the hook design, made it a bit flatter than the slot so cables fit through above it

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@Jomer the wires have plenty of space, you can move them to any point and the cable stays hidden

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@Jomer most of it goes into the cable cup, you can easily fit 3-4 meters of cable into one cup.

Yo, if you live in Berlin and have a sunny balcony/garden/window. You can get a plug-in solar setup for basically free.
This city subsidy program gives you up to 500€ for a setup and most only cost you around 300-400€.
Its basically free electricity for your apartment/home.

https://www.ibb-business-team.de/steckersolargeraete/

https://www.berlin.de/solarcity/solarcity-berlin/im-fokus/foerderprogramm-solarplus/

E: Actually a lot more citites and even some states offer similar programs: https://www.vattenfall.de/infowelt-energie/solar/balkonkraftwerk-foerderung

One example for under 500€ that fulfills the spec limits:
https://epp-solar.de/product/1000w-balkonkraftwerk-komplettset-mit-500w-solarmodule-nep-800w-wifi-wechselrichter-und-10m-schuckostecker-4/

Keep in mind that in Berlin you need aproval before you can buy if you want the subsidy.
Its the opposite in other programs so read up before you make an order.

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@niclas yea it does, its a plug-in system. You just plug it into an outlet.

You can "see" it here after all, at least through the camera with an f0.95 lens.
Impossible to see by naked eye in the city.

The pigeon cam is back. A circuit breaker fliped during a thunderstorm while I was traveling, ending the stream.

They laid eggs now!

if you’ve written code to interact with a USB device (in userspace, not in the kernel), what tools/learning resources did you use?

right now I’m thinking gousb (and Wireshark to spy on USB traffic) but I’ve never done this before

the USB device in question is a USB-to-Ethernet adapter on a Mac

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@b0rk @mjk I can also recommend "USB Complete", great book to look up details.

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@b0rk aside from the all powerful libusb you also have WebUSB available in Chrome and friends.
There is also node-usb which offers a WebUSB like interface.

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@b0rk they are all just libusb in the end but the interface is more friendly to use :D

Was more sparing with indoor masking on my last days and got the prompt receipt🫠

E: please no advise, I know everything you can possibly think of. It's my first infection and masked on any indoor thing past that one time where I likely got it (crowded restaurant)

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@MisterHW Yea that was good news. Also that other one that can target a virus more broadly so immune evasion wouldn't be as much of a problem anymore but sounded like that was a fair bit out.
I had a booster a month ago so yea, would have hoped that would help longer for actual infection lol

did you ever encounter some RP2040 GPIOs just not... working? i.e. you tell it to output a logic high level, but the actual pin is close to GND? we have some pocket keyboards that are like that. there is no short on the board. so i'm wondering how this can happen. damage during soldering, handling?

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@funkylab @jaseg @mntmn @Laberpferd They might very well be, PCBWay has no assembly lines, they outsource this to various PCBA places. Which is why they can be quite inconsistent when it comes to assembly quality.

timonsku,
@timonsku@mastodon.social avatar

@funkylab @jaseg @mntmn @Laberpferd wave soldering only becomes cheaper at really high qty where the setup time and dialling in becomes worth it. Wave soldering is really tricky to get consistent and not every design is suited for it.
Not something you do if your joint count is in the thousands.
