I like having fun and being cool on the internet.

If you want to know more check out my pinned toot(s). The info there is probably more up to date and relevant than anything I'd write here!

I also run the labyrinth.social instance. See @admin for posts about that

We’re now seven episodes into #DoctorWho (2023) and there have been two I already consider all time classics (Wild Blue Yonder and Boom), and none of the others have been duds (although I’ve had problems with some). I like this version of the show!

I do think it's kind of neat that apple now allows emulators in the iphone app store, and I'm glad people are excited about the launch of a mostly fully featured retro nintendo emulator, but it's also kind of a shitty experience IMO. turns out those games are better if you have actual buttons

Boston area folks: Pandemonium books and games in Cambridge. Y’all seen this shit??? When I go into a local game store I expect to see half a shelf at most of indie rpgs, they got like six bookcases. There’s a whole shelf of solo journaling games. This store is legit amazing

I was just watching something where a store owner who knew nothing about gundam, gunpla, or plamo was talking about their stock of model kits.

He referred to some model kits of the Gundam mobile suits as "Gundams". Yes, great.

He referred to some model kits of other non-Gundam mobile suits from the Gundam anime as "Gundams." Absolutely correct.

Then he referred to some different giant robot model kits from a different non-Gundam anime as "Gundams". No notes. Completely correct.

It was truly an honor to appear in a Spoiler Cops (in color!) sketch on the Reality Bomb podcast. https://www.realitybombpodcast.com/2024/03/27/reality-bomb-episode-116/

remember at the end of Rise of Skywalker when a lady said "what's your name" and Rey said "Rey" and the lady was like "no, I need your full name" and she paused and reflected on her journey and who she had become, and said, "Me? I'm Rey Star Wars"

So excited to hear @rileysilverman interview Alex Kingston. Alex wasted absolutely no time before shouting out costume designer Ray Holman and crediting him with his role in bringing River Song to the screen. An absolute class act.

Love hearing Amanda-Rae Prescott interview costume designer Ray Holman. So glad she asked him about the role he has in helping along the next generation of costume designers, loved his answer too.

What @anildash is saying here is extremely important. sharing something like this on mastodon feels kind of like preaching to the choir, but it's worth periodically reminding ourselves.

I'm trying to read more so of course like any normal person I am tracking my reading progress on three entirely different websites

Goodreads (the amazon-owned evil corporate behemoth): https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/2149619-tom-dickinson

StoryGraph (the slick startup): https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile/nowwearealltom

bookwyrm (the fediverse one): @nowwearealltom

(and also my own paper planner because it's important to track things in four different places)

Someone on another website once posted something like “to the tune of who let the dogs out: WHY DO I FEEL BAD” and I think about that whenever I feel bad. No idea who that was that posted that, but thanks, poster

Shout out to the employee at Cumberland Farms (a ubiquitous New England convenience store/gas station chain) standing outside on a cigarette break who said to me as I was going into the store “look at all those sheep over there, going to Dunkin” pointing at the cars in the Dunkin drive through across the street. You tell em
