It's not that well known, but HelloFresh (the service that delivers ready to make meals to your house) actually has a Pit outside of their Headquarters and they just burn all their trash on premises. It's super harmful to the environment. I heard that BlueApron (a similar service) has actually also partnered with HelloFresh to dump all their trash into this pile and the executives all come to watch it while talking business. It's incredibly strange.

I've worked at HelloFresh for a few years now and I remember my manager would always come down to the floor where we worked (it was just me and a team of 4/5) and they'd excitingly skip into the room and say "The trash is burning! the trash is burning!" and we'd all look out the window as a massive plume of smoke filled the area.

The fire brigade would often come at first, according to some of my (at the time) coworkers, but they stopped arriving after the 20th or so time.

Strangely the healthy and safety policy that was implemented at the office was incredibly strict, very limited meal options, disclosure of allergies, but I remember reading it and nothing mentioned smoke or burning trash.

I really had no idea what to do, it seems like a company ritual but, really? Burning trash? I asked my manager about it during a casual conversation and her face dropped to being serious, she was usually incredibly cheery. She showed me to a room with blacked out windows and told me to write everything I knew. As I did, the CEO came in and looked me dead in the eye and smiled. Left after that. I reluctantly wrote everything and left. I was the only one left on my team by the end of the week and the executives had come over to see me many times.

The only way I could escape the questions would be saying "do I smell smoke?" and they would shoot out the room. I then quit while I had the chance.

i was playing Sonic R (the best racing game ever, well previously best... i'll get into it .. .) and i noticed in the song i hear the lyric "can you feel the sunshine " i immediately turn off my Sega Saturn, crying and shivering. i realise that Sonic R was not made by real gamers like me, it was made by stupid gamers, gamers that do not dedicate their time to real games and gamers who go out into the sunshine. Sorry Sonic R. I do NOT feel the sunshine. and i do NOT feel the joy from playing your game !!! by the way... need for speed is better .....
