I want all the time back, that was spent making "rounded corners" in the last 2 decades.

In the scheme of the project - it really didn't matter - the same content was displayed. The form was effectively the same.

OMG... square corners - WE CAN"T USE THIS...

But it's the same words, paragraphs, and form fields. Even less code (e.g. CSS, etc)

But everywhere on the web is using rounded corners - WE MUST HAVE ROUNDED CORNERS!

@JohnJBurnsIII It’s a way to cover up inconsistency in everything else, images are centered, same size, same opacity, but rounded corners. I agree, time to be as lazy as the content creators and not program over their mistakes.

Sport grows by participation. F1 may be the world's fastest growing sport-related consumer market. But that's a market not a sport.

Why it is rare that I give out an email address when shopping? (physical or online)

  1. Rare that it is actually beneficial to me

  2. The org uses automatic opt-in for other irrelevant messaging

  3. More than likely unsubscribe is convoluted process and not permanent

  4. Likely they will sell data - even if they say they do not.

My solution?

If email address is actually required - I create an account "just for them" - and if email becomes a burden - I delete it. Hand-slap, done!

@JohnJBurnsIII Guest checkout should be an option, if I’m not buying access. If I need an order status, then I should be able to use the order id and some other information. It’s easier to communicate and reorder if customers log in but not required.

Pre-emptive school closings in some parts of Ohio

Weather predictions put Ohio in peak zones for winds, hail, tornadoes... NOT that they are happening now - but in several hours from now (some areas, not till 7 or later).

I have family in Akron area - and they have some 'side-eye' due to early school closings. Don't feel that is warranted.

@JohnJBurnsIII as someone who was in multiple single bus accidents as a kid and father of boys in one as well, buses will want to tip, rollover and skid all over the place today. It wasn’t as much fun as it sounds climbing out of a bus that is on its side stuck in a ditch.

The government trying to ban certain social media apps in the US isn’t going to work. They’ll have to close the borders and ban VPN also. Think about the way the internet is in Iran or China, that’s what they’ll have to do.

Using what people say on Reddit to train AI sounds like the best way to perpetuate ignorance, intolerance and just bad grammar. I’ve never found any enlightenment or enjoyment from Reddit. Am I wrong and Reddit is a treasure trove of knowledge? Or paying millions to train AI from Reddit is a bad idea?

@georgetakei I learned several things after reading this article and searching for more. Designers don’t pay runway models to sell clothes. This designer thinks it’s ok for certain races to make the clothes but not wear the clothes. This designer is ok with transparent clothing but not a transparent clothing industry.
