veroxii,

Yeah it’s a good method but the “envelope” budgeting systemn has existed for decades.

veroxii,

Now do one for people with the asparagus smelling and smell producing gene.

veroxii,

You’re pressing the tab key for auto completion right?

veroxii,

This is extremely cool.

Because of the federated nature of Lemmy many instances might be scanning the same images. I wonder if there might be some way to pool resources that if one instance has already scanned an image some hash of it can be used to identify it and the whole AI model doesn’t need to be rerun.

Still the issue of how do you trust the cache but maybe there’s some way for a trusted entity to maintain this list?

veroxii,

That it falls short during cold winter days is telling me we could probably solve that by not building Australian houses like tents with no doors.

Proper building codes with proper insulation standards would probably reduce winter demand from residential homes by a huge chunk.

veroxii,

Great BBC documentary about this from years ago: topdocumentaryfilms.com/kill-human-being/

Definitely shows this is the most humane way to kill people if you needed to.

However the tldw is that the suffering and painfulness of executions are basically the point for many. These sick fucks see it as punishment. “A painless death would not be justice”

veroxii,

In Australia - you might get asked what type of tea. There’s usually about 10 types of the menu from the usual English Breakfast or Early Grey to Chai, green or some other more fruity variants. It may come in a pot, or a cup, or a mug, depending on the sophistication of the joint. You’ll usually be asked “cup or mug?”.

And in Australia, they’re pretty good about knowing which teas need sugar and or milk and usually bring that separately to the table for you to apply the way you want. Other times they’ll ask “how many sugars and how much milk”?

Everywhere else in the world they either bring woefully too little milk, or can’t even begin to understand the concept of milk in your tea. (mainland Europe and Asia mostly).

veroxii,

Take a wild guess where.

Estonia!

veroxii,

Yeah I’m sure she’s lived through some shit.

veroxii,

Maybe I’m out of the loop but are eSIMs insecure or something? What’s the problem? I started using eSIMs while traveling overseas and it been a game changer. So easy… No more swapping. No more trying to find a Sim provider at the airport etc.

veroxii,

In your wisdom, Lord, you took him, as you took so many bright flowering young men at Khe Sanh, at Langdok, at Hill 364.

veroxii,

Maybe they’re one of those suicide cults?

veroxii,

I know you mean the Quran but in Islamic countries I’ve mostly only seen a little sticker in the hotel bed drawer pointing in the direction you should pray.

veroxii,

No I built it. It’s in my garage in a server rack. I lucky to have gigabit fibre internet.

veroxii,

I’m in Australia and no VPN for stremio because I use real-debrid. As I understand it I’m just direct downloading from there. If I didn’t have RD and had to torrent for stremio I’d use a VPN for sure.

veroxii,

It’s not about the space. It’s that it’s just like Netflix. You browse and see something and play it directly. There’s no planning needed… Even if that is as simple as a quick search on radarr. And no waiting for the torrent to finish even if it’s usually less than 10 mins.

Instant gratification.

veroxii,

I’m subscribed to 4 different streaming services and it’s still not everything. Also I’m not giving Rupert Murdoch a cent for all the damage he’s done to Australia. And Foxtel is owned by him and the only way to get any HBO shows for instance. And even if you paid them they only do 1080p.

veroxii,

Conners?

veroxii,

Few years back around Dallas Buyers Club there was a big crackdown and ISPs brought in this 3 strikes rule. People got some letters and warnings.

So I’m not sure what it’s like these days but why take a chance?

veroxii,

I run it on the NVIDIA shield which is an Android TV box. Just install the app from the Play store.
