@leahawasser Really enjoyed your talk! You articulated the problem well. Even as an experienced packager, every few years the tooling landscape totally changes and it feels like starting from scratch.

We are all perpetual beginners.

Like a truffle hog, I have a knack for sniffing out the dirtiest bar food. Wandered around Pittsburgh and found this absolute monster for $8 🤤

Programmers, do you use your arrow keys, or do you use other keyboard shortcuts for navigation?

@ehmatthes I'm a huge fan of home and end keys as well. My end key started sticking today and I realized just howuch I use it (more than I thought!)

Because I'm not organizing enough communities 😅, I've now started an inclusive music jam meetup locally. Our first meetup was so fun! With 3 guitars and a violin, we played a few songs together. 🎸

I'm quite excited about where this could go. 😁

@wagtail Hiya 👋 I'm trying to gauge the compatibility with the upcoming Django 5.0. The docs currently have...

> Wagtail is currently compatible with Django 3.2, 4.1, and 4.2.

... but the tests are running against 5.0 as well, so I'm thinking Wagtail 5.2 (LTS) is already compatible? Not 100% sure how to tell? 🤔 Thanks 🙏

@carlton @wagtail This has been my experience as well... Django 4.2 seems to work fine with Python 3.12, although not officially supported. I believe Wagtail 5.2 officially supports Python 3.12 even though stable releases of Django do not (yet) 🤔

Interesting article about the original goal of the Django admin module by Vince Salvino from CodeRed with the provocative title "Why is the Django Admin “Ugly”?" 🔥

@FunkyBob @paulox @jacob @django I often explain it as a database-viewer as well. Lots of good info in this thread, I'll have to update the article!
