How good is the battery life on my #Asus#Zenfone 11? I spent all day at #Disneyland, leaving at close. Relatives with iPhones had their batteries die around noon to mid-afternoon. Disneyland sells portable chargers everywhere. I never charged my phone once, used it all throughout the day (pretty much have to run Disneyland app), didn't use any power saving mode, etc, and when I got back in around 1:30am, I still had 55% left.
@vwbusguy my work uses iphones so I have to carry one around alongside my personal, even with a brand new battery my work phone has always at best lasted like 1/2-1/3 as long as any other phone I've owned in the past 10 years, even my 6 year old worn battery on my current personal phone (LGv30) lasts like 3 times as long as my work iphone with it's brand new battery....I really don't understand how apple is so bad with battery life, i couldn't engineer it worse if i tried.
I did something today I never thought I would do. I got my first #Gretsch#guitar. I traded the Stagemaster for it. I would describe both the visuals and tone as "shiny".
I might put a pic or two of it on my Pixelfed in a couple of days.
@vwbusguy Nice! The Filter'Tron equipped models are very versatile. My experience of them is that they can navigate between PAF and single coil quite nicely. And , paired with a Bigsby, the aesthetics are unmatched. The brand feels a bit soulless in its Fender era; like G&L under BBE.
@mwhjohnson I have a PRS Custom 24-08, which is much more convincing for doing PAF and Strat sounds. This guitar tone lives somewhere inbetween those two worlds.
Pound for pound, the whammy system on a #Fender Stratocaster is as good as it gets. I'm obviously not saying it's better than everything else in every way, but I'd take it over a Bigsby or Floyd Rose for any #guitar that I'm also in charge of tuning and changing strings on.
Apparently being in my 40s means I can no longer sleep or sit in a number of different positions without somehow injuring my back for days, weeks, or months at a time.
@vwbusguy
As fat as I know readers digest still exists and their children's magazine is still in production. The parents read Reader's Digest while the kids read Highlights. I had a subscription to it and Nintendo Power.
Selling on Craigslist so far is a lot of people texting if it's still available, then never replying again when you say yes, except the ones that do reply after that are scammers with a pitch for some convoluted payment scheme.
@vwbusguy Same. I've bought a few things on Craigslist the past few years but I haven't been successful selling anything. I got close a few years ago. We agreed on a price ($40) and a place (library parking lot) and when I got there she said she had no intention of paying but would take it off my hands for free. What?!
@vwbusguy It's not like we were there uninvited. I'm personally not a fan of the resurgence of isolationism in the US. While I'm sure the US has made many mistakes over the years in our interventions I'm not entirely certain that handing the developing world over the Vladimir Putin is a good idea either.
@sudoedit Those are fair points, but there aren't simply the extremes of isolationist and interventionist positions. These were combat troops stationed there.
Besides, while you pointed out that we weren't initially uninvited, it is also clear we are no longer welcome to be there, so leaving was the right call. I wouldn't call this a very effective campaign or use of our resources by any measure, nor a good reason to keep troops away from their families.
