Beyond the obvious, what strikes me about the Crow-Thomas relationship is how life-changing investments for Thomas were so cheap for Crow.

And he's not even a particularly wealthy rich person. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/05/04/clarence-thomas-supreme-court-harlan-crow/

wackyIdeas,

@pbump Maybe if we have a few bake sales, we can buy a Supreme Court justice of our own.

Read an article today about why Americans think alcohol has health benefits and it's apparently another "well the French are healthy and they do X so it's healthy to do X."

So here's your periodic reminder that France (and Italy, and Sweden, and Japan, and basically every country you've seen in a "this country is so healthy, what's their secret?" headline) has universal health care.

The secret is access to health care. It's always access to health care.

Asked by Semafor if Tucker Carlson's firing had anything to do with a harassment lawsuit recently filed by a former Fox News producer -- one who'd worked on Carlson's show -- the ex-producer's attorney responded: "I have no comment on those reports other than to say that timing is a matter of physics, and as such is undeniable.”

wackyIdeas,

@dell Unless trump picks him as his vp candidate, I don’t think he’ll get a better offer.
