wargreymon2023,

No need for micromanagement, they just need your corrected data, it all counts in Bytes, not hour.

It is toxic and a mess, jump off the boat quick.

wargreymon2023,

codidact is open source, otherwise very similar to stackoverflow.

Domain blocks are always publicly visible.

Mod logs are always publicly visible in the public mod log.

What? It is crucial for the users, not a bug.

Censorship and targeted sliencing of users are the source of bad moderation. To top it off, the mod can target and harrass the banned user and we wouldn’t know bc of censorship if allowed.

targeted harassment

  1. It is about the anonymity of moderator, not about modlog
  2. Quit this job as moderator if you can’t take it
wargreymon2023,

He introduces but also criticizes the use of call/cc, 1. not being a function and looks like a function, 2. able to produce an union of types with it.

Is he correct? What do you think?

Does anyone run their desktop environment containerized?

I’m used to using Linux from the terminal. I have a new machine which I plan to use mostly headless but would occasionally like to run a desktop environment and play games with GPU acceleration. I know I don’t have to launch the desktop environment on startup, but I was wondering if it’s possible to have that entire...

Most of the stuff I regret buying can be sold as second-hand. My biggest miss is to buy a good laptop for high too early, now I want an OLED display on laptop but I am stuck with my expensive model with LCD😅

wargreymon2023,

Actually looks promising, definitely give it a go 😉

start with the configuration template of a “bare-bone” system, you can find that on usb installation or documentation. Figure out what you want as root and configure only that.

Leave the rest for “home configuration” of a user.

Should I use Rust and Go together or just Go?

So I want to make a new project. It will have a website and an algorithm which will handle the requests. The thing is, web development in Rust feels harder than say in Go or Python. So I thought maybe I could somehow make bindings in Rust for Go since the faster the algorithm is, the better. However, that seems to complicate...

wargreymon2023,

This question is quite specific to Go, also specific to the algorithm you using. You should also ask on the Go mailing list, or benchmark your algo in Go and then ask on rust mailing list.

Nix + Guix could have been an amazing combo, but in reality, it is an absolute disaster, at least for now

Currently, I’m on a Guix System, and I must say, using Nix with it, or vice-versa, is a terrible idea because of one simple reason: contamination of environment variables: PATH, LD_PRELOAD and LD_LIBRARY_PATH, just to name a few. Most of my Flakes are useless on the Guix System, and I can imagine the same for Guix expressions...

wargreymon2023,
