I think most people know laws like this are worded specifically to be selectively enforced so whichever group is their 30 min hate target of the month is subjugated and fucked with for being an outsider. You can’t legislate away homelessness unless forcing vacant owners to honor section 8 & affordable housing vouchers.

The only thing keeping me from regularly using bikes or ebikes for short distance travel are the cars and trucks sharing the same space that ignore bike lanes and try to get as close as they can to you when they pass you, and if I try to use the largely unused sidewalks and dip into the street to avoid the occasional pedestrians I get a ticket.

It’s the modern equivalent of an arcade quarter eater, movie/TV show tie in cash grab, etc predatory monetization in gaming. It is bullshit but it’s nothing new. Vote with your wallet what kind of games you want to play, but criticizing a game for including mtx without buying the game is a valid criticism because there are gamers who take single player mtx into consideration when shopping.

I think the general idea would be to take the original const, and create a new const with the new location applied. Destroy the original when it’s no longer needed or scoped. State maintained through parameters passed to the move function e.g. move(original const, new location) -> new const object instead of stateful members in the object like move(mutable, new location) -> updated mutable.

Not seeing anything yet but it can be hard to get accurate news reporting from a country that kills subversive journalists and is in a war. I think most are assuming it’s either an internal or external paramilitary group related to the war in Ukraine, or domestic terrorists related to the recent elections, I think targeting a concert is more likely the latter but we’ll see which group takes responsibility if any.

Congrats on shrinking the drugs black market Germany, hopefully more to follow. A few years after legalization in Michigan and so far the major outcomes are millions in additional state taxes, more small business dispensaries and grow ops, and the downside for some, more frequently smelling weed in public places.

Yeah I don’t think mods and “power users” that stayed after last year are necessarily against reddit succeeding, just not willing to buy in at a 6.5bil valuation for a company that can’t turn a profit and lost 90+ mil last year and 700+ cumulative. The CEO got 193 mil last year it’s clear where their priorities are. And after the bad will they gained last year burning mods and third party apps it’s not a big surprise many are watching with a big ol’ bucket of popcorn.

The current process was established in 1974. Not everyone gets furloughed for every shutdown, and it’s worth noting the government is the biggest employer in the country iirc & manages social security benefits, and taxes don’t stop while the shutdown happens. Basically it’s a huge mess and the '74 law needs serious reform to require Congress to compromise on a budget again as a requirement of their role.

I agree with the rest but it’s not just modern gaming it was happening back in the 90s on consoles and earlier in arcades. One of the first games I played was an obvious cash grab by Marvel, Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge for the Gameboy. It was barely playable.
