#MakersHour A3: I had a dedicated space to make stuff up until 3 months ago, now it’s back to the office at home. It’s too chaotic at the moment for pictures, but then I also don’t do much „real“ making there atm besides repairing stuff and packing tindie orders every now and then @makershour
Well it appears dear old #universeodon is having some sort of issue and the folks at #makersHour probably think I've not shown up. Darn and consternation, to put it politely.
@wild1145 I'm part of a group which meets up once a week, 2000-2100 GMT, called #Makershour and boosted by the @makershour group. Nobody seems to be able to see me, not even to decry my terrible attempts at wit. The only notification I've got for hours is yours just now.
Valencia, strange kitty. Often she seems to think she is a dog - plays fetch. Sprints ahead of you from room to room. Begs at the table! (She's well fed, honest!)
I've had cats in my home for nearly thirty years, but Val does something none before her have.
When scared, she does the usual fox-bush tail, but when she's excited and happy, she does a half-bush with her tail. Only the bottom couple of inches go boof but they really, really stand up all fluffy. Never seen it before.
Been meaning to say, if anyone has a pet that they are desperate to see in a Santa hat but either 1. thinks it would be an indignity to make them wear one or 2. would like to avoid their pet taking appropriate revenge for the indignity, do share a photo with me & I'll happily do a virtual version if I can!
I realise in the days of AI and photo filters you don't need a photoshopper anymore, but just in case anyone wants an artisnal version 🎅 🐱 🐶
@eclectech This is Ming. She is a very bitey kitty and putting her in a Christmas hat would truly be a gory affair! Do you think you can save us a trip to the hospital? 😀
now transferring files from the "starcam" last night. Really need to look into how to make Public an SMB share so Windows can see it like a folder, instead of using VNC transfer.
so I quickly stacked them and saw what looked like a weird gravitational effect that made some, and only some, of the stars suddenly "jump track" and move on a new orbit. I was going to post here in puzzlement about what could cause such a strange phenomena, given only some of the stars had this strange behaviour.
Looking closer, realising that all the stars that did that, did so at the start of their trails and only moved in a relative vertical direction, I had a huge DOH moment and understood...
The camera moved early in the sequence. Probably settling or somesuch. Oh well.
so here's the stacked image - there's still a hint of movement there, I'll have to secure the tripod and tiny camera better I expect. The pole star is up there in the top-right, just out of shot.
Caught a single meteor, which you can see disappearing out of shot on the top right. #astrodon#astronomy
Taken using a #raspberryPi camera module v3 NOIR, hence the red tinge, taking repeated 20second exposures.
#Astrodon#astronomy just saw one of my brightest meteors yet! It was to the south-south-east of me going kinda east-west, started as a dim trail, quickly brightened and ended with a flash. I half-expected to hear it! Left a visible cloud/smoke/vaporized-rock trail that was still there briefly after I looked away and back again. The shooting star itself lasted almost two seconds!
