IGN just ate Gamer Network. :/

The RPS editor’s been fired. Hard to see the voice of RPS and Eurogamer surviving, although fingers crossed both won’t just be mashed into IGN with a fork.

Funny how when I was a kid, I always dreamed of working on a games mag. Now, there are almost no paper mags left and the online ones are vanishing at speed.

@craiggrannell The worst of all options. I’d already assumed Aoife and Luke were stealth redundancies at Eurogamer and Oxboxtra.

@craiggrannell And fewer competitors, which might be the key there.

I'm surprised this needs to be said but...

"If I have to give you an email address or phone number or worse, phone you to find out the price of your good or service I will never find out the price of your good or service".

@danieldurrans In this specific case it's a storage place where they only offer 1 size (crate) so it's absolutely a fixed price, they just won't tell me it.

Not much new in this piece, alas. Merely reinforces that a majority of Brits think Brexit was a mistake BUT that quite a few leave voters believe that because Brexit “hasn’t been done [properly]”, and that even remain voters have no appetite whatsoever to fight against the status quo. So the near future at least will likely be further decline and Labour picking at the edges of the Brexit deal for meagre wins that won’t annoy anyone too much.

But the past couple of days have not been well...great... let's just put it that way.

So when I saw this scumbag's mug appear again in my feed, despite the dozens of clicks of "do not recommend this garbage channel", it pissed me off even more.

Always looking to shit on anything and everything that's not PlayStation, trying to make money off people losing their jobs, and this dumb fuck doesn't even know Arkane's name...

I hope he chokes on a toenail.

Hey Bandits, what are you playing today? I've been thrashing Manor Lords, B-Movie, Ready or Not and the very original Command and Conquer.

A heady mix of medieval settlement building, alien abduction, tactical SWAT action and bad guy operations.

I just want to repost this as we lost something really special.

If you haven't played Prey or any of the Dishonoured games before, please give them a try.
They might take a little bit of adjusting before they really click with you as they have a very specific type of play style which doesn't immediately show its brilliance.
At least it didn't for me.

But they give you so much in return when you put in a bit of time.

Hampshire is very Tory on average, so this is no surprise. But also, I abhor politicising PCCs. So I did vote in this election, but I was extremely close to a spoil your ballot moment. https://mastodon.social/@ukelections@mastodonapp.uk/112382598785261458

@craiggrannell We only had a PCC election and I confess I did t bother since I checked the candidates and none were standing on an “abolish this position” platform.

If you haven't done the bare minimum of having any online presence then why on earth should I vote for you in the local elections?

I am basically voting for the only two who aren't Tory, don't look like a serial killer, and have some sort of statement written on a website.

yesterzine,
@yesterzine@topspicy.social avatar

@danieldurrans We literally only have an election for the fictional job of “police commissioner”. I looked at the list and none of them want to abolish the position so I won’t bother doing the walk to choose between 5 white men who all want more police but will have exactly 0 power to achieve that.

Interesting that Evercade is doing a Thalamus cart. I’m not sure all the games have aged well, but they were big at the time. But it’s deeply weird it’s not ‘complete’ and omits the first three (out of 14) C64 titles from the label. Given that they’re all by the same author, I wonder if there were rights issues. If not, I’m not sure why anyone would intentionally select eg Summer Camp over Quedex. (Also means no Delta, which had that epic Hubbard music.)

yesterzine,

@craiggrannell The clue here may be “Thalamus Collection 1”

yesterzine,

@craiggrannell Is monster world not a Thalamus game, maybe they want to make that the centrepiece.

Shit Amiga game does feel fairly evercade tbf. But since you mention that cruise for a corpse not being on the delphine one was equally baffling.
