Proof?

I read 15 different sites about DNS and not a one of them claimed anything like this. They universally all stated that your network attached devices would use the 1st one unless it didn't respond and only use the 2nd one if the 1st one did not.

So once again, I ask "Can you send me some more information on this" and not just claim it without any backup information?

I apologize if I am coming off rude, just my BS meter is getting close to the red zone and I would really appreciate some reliable evidence.

Bizarroland,

Yeah, looks like you don't know what you're talking about.

The second ipv4 DNS address is for redundancy and every network connected system will use the first one as long as it responds.

It's perfectly fine to have a single pihole and use something like quad9 as a failover in the unlikely event that your pihole goes down unexpectedly.

No, I know that many chemicals have multiple uses, just like propylene glycol can be used as an antifreeze but also works as a sweetener in food.

I honestly cannot find the article that I read but I did read at one point that there was too much silicon dioxide in taco bells meat at one point and they had to reign it back.

Bizarroland,

So what is in Taco Bell's seasoned ground beef? Here's the full list of ingredients straight from the company's site:

Beef, Water, Seasoning [Isolated Oat Product, Salt, Chili Pepper, Onion Powder, Tomato Powder, Oats (Wheat), Soy Lecithin, Sugar, Spices, Maltodextrin, Soybean Oil (Anti-dusting Agent), Garlic Powder, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Citric Acid, Caramel Color, Cocoa Powder (Processed With Alkali), Silicon Dioxide, Natural Flavors, Yeast, Modified Corn Starch, Natural Smoke Flavor], Salt, Sodium Phosphates. CONTAINS SOYBEANS, WHEAT

Silicon dioxide is a major component of sand, and they do not make any bones about including that in their meat, but because of some weirdo suing them saying that it was only 35% beef versus 88% beef I cannot find the link where the FDA was prosecuting them for having too much silicon dioxide in their meat.

I feel like this could actually work as long as you weren't very picky about how long you went between showers.

Not because of it using hydrogen, that's silly. Combining hydrogen and oxygen is something best left to NASA, but you could in theory, use a dehydrator to capture water out of the atmosphere and then shower with that water.

The problem is is that unless you live in a very humid location it could be days or weeks for you to get the five gallons of water or so that you would need to take a satisfying shower.

What are your thoughts on restricting children’s access to pornography online?

There are a lot of GOP-controller legislatures in the USA pushing through so-called “child protection” laws, but there’s a toll in the form of impacting people’s rights and data privacy. Most of these bills involve requiring adults to upload a copy of their photo ID.

To be fair I can empathize with their desire. They want a good and happy America and a good and happy world to live in and they are told that the reason they can't have that is because of all of these crazy things, because our news and media empire entirely runs on human suffering, peppered with occasional feel good stories.

The pervasive sense of dread and misery?, anomia?, can't think of the right word that you get when you interact with the news isn't something that everyone can simply shrug off and go about their day like it's nothing.

You would have to be a robot to not be affected by it.

Of course, this isn't an excuse for them. The sane reaction to being constantly told bad things by a psychic vampire is to remove the psychic vampire from your life and not to act on what the psychic vampire has said.

I mean, when your crazy Aunt Linda starts ranting at Thanksgiving dinner about how they put poison in the salad dressing, you don't throw out the salad dressing you tell Linda that if she doesn't like the salad dressing she doesn't have to eat it otherwise she needs to shut up and eat her turkey.

But you give crazy Aunt Linda 500 million a year and the ability to scream her insanity into 110 million people's ears 24 hours a day and you get a world full of crazy people.

Reddit Refugee here venting

I’m in the post-ban blackpilled mode right no so please forgive me. I know reddit is falling apart but it isn’t happening fast enough. Is there any hope that the whole site will be destroyed? I really just want the whole site / app completely destroyed and thew Vichyite mods unable to have their power trips anymore.

As an aside from that, those are the two things that I feel that trying to create a digital clone of myself would require.

I could quite easily you know start working on a list of movies I've watched and shows I've watched in music I've listened to and stories I've written and posts I've made online and books that I've read and get a general idea of the range and width and breadth of my knowledge bases. I could tell it what I think about the people I know and tell it the stories of my life and my childhood as I remember them, and even though that would be rather time-consuming it would be plausible.

The tough part of generating a digital me would be ensuring that the digital version of myself has the same mors that I have because often I do not know what more as I have until I'm in a situation where I need to exercise them and conjuring that information up on the fly would be very difficult to say the least.

I think there is a line, and it's different for every person, but on one side of the line to lift other people up you would have to sacrifice your own life velocity, and on the other side of the line you have the power to lift tens of hundreds or thousands of people out of poverty without impacting more than a fraction of your children's inheritance.

I understand that there are issues with unchecked charity, for instance, if Bill Gates suddenly decided to take I don't know 25 billion dollars and distribute it equally to everybody in the 50% or below category of America which is about 250 million people, then he would basically be giving these people a hundred bucks each and saying "there I've done my job I gave up 30% of my net worth to help the poor" and that really wouldn't accomplish anything.

But that same $25 billion targeted at the bottom 1% of America I could do quite a bit but then there's overhead. Buying houses and repairing them for people to solve the homelessness problem or purchasing all of the debt that you could possibly buy for $25 billion and then forgiving that debt for the poorest people, those things could be better and do more for people but then you have administrative overhead finding and communicating with the debtors and negotiating with them, and then at the end of it it's likely that you would get a massive tax right off cuz you wouldn't do this as an individual you do it as a nonprofit, and then bill would get back 8 billion of that in tax rebates or so.

Like there is obviously a line on both sides and while I don't think people making you know even 200 Grand a year should put themselves at risk for homelessness in order to justify their financial status I also don't think that any billionaire has any right to strive to continue being a billionaire for the rest of their lives. If you cannot live a happy life on a billion dollars then you cannot live a happy life.

So what you're saying is that we should train an AI to detect AIS and that way only the human beings could survive on the site. The problem is how do you train the ai? They would need some sort of meta interface where they could analyze the IP address of every single person that post and the time frames with which they post in.

It would make some sense that a large portion of bots would run would be run in relatively similar locations IP wise, since it's a lot easier to run a large bot farm from a data center than it is from 1,000 different people's houses.

You could probably filter out the most egregious but farms by doing that. But despite that some would still slip through.

After that you would need to train it on heuristics to be able to identify the kinds of conversations these bots would have with each other not knowing that each other are bots, knowing that each of them are using llama or GPT and the kinds of conversations that that would start.

I guess the next step would be giving people an opportunity to prove that they're not bots if they ended up accidentally saying something the way a bot would say it, but then you get into the hole you need to either pay for Access or provide government ID or something issue and that's its own can of worms.

By the time humans are brick and mortar they are no longer sentient, fossilization typically removes sentience in the current meta.

However if you're trying to work the concept of the p-noid zombie into the conversation then it should be safe to say that that entire concept is bunk at best and potentially a gateway to either scientific Calvinism or eugenics.

Are you talking about the infocom version?

Had the infocom greatest hits and played that game a handful of times but it was so labyrinthian that my preteen brain could not work it out.

I should go back and try playing it again.

What if P-Noid zombies aren't just soulless creatures but are sentinels watching us? How better to to guard your prisoners and make sure they never escape than to not let them know they're in prison to begin with, right?
