What are some games that are surprising how well they run on the Switch. I know there was a lot of talk about when they ported the Witcher 3 to the switch. Have you played any other games like that?
The problem unhoused people face is not nighttime library access it's housing. We all know that the reason they're shutting their wifi off at night is because while for some homeless people this wifi is a lifeline, for some others it's where they get their porn or where they hang out to do drugs and browse the internet. But the fundamental problem remains the same, because they have no where to go home to, whether someone is fapping or connecting with helpful resources, it's all done in public.
The difference that I see between reddit and twitter is that reddit hasn't been purchased to be the plaything of a billionaire. This matters because unlike facebook and google, reddit and twitter aren't profitable. That means that reddit doesn't have to pockets to buy up competitors, lobby for beneficial regulations, focus on expanding overseas, or move into making hardware.
I saw the title and thought huh, it's working ok for me, then realized that it's from Lemmy. We're federated woot! For people on Lemmy.world, kbin.social is also having problems from the new influx of people. Different problems, but problems.
I been getting 503 error messages every once in a while. It usually resolves after a few minutes. There are also a few bugs with comments not appearing in federated instances, which makes sense since it's not complete yet. I'm pretty pleased overall.
A new one. I always saw my reddit account as something private that I wouldn't share with anyone I knew irl. I never posted anything scandalous, but I'm sure I said some cringy things back in the day.
I think it'd make the comments a little cluttered looking. It doesn't really matter what instance someone is from for regular conversation and if someone's curious the can click through to the persons profile
I made this magazine as a substitute for r/otomegames, Welcome! Being a fairly niche topic, it will probably be a while until there's more than a few of us. Still, I'm here, and check on the magazine regularly. If you start a thread, at the very least, I'll respond. I'll try to make make a new thread about otome news about once a week. Otherwise, expect this to stay pretty dead for a while.
I saw an article for Star Wars Outlaws and it made me think of all the SW video games I've played over the years, starting from the original SW console game to X-Wing Alliance to Jedi: Survivor...
It’s disappointing to see some of the larger subreddits going public with a ‘what’s the point?’ tone. Most are staying private, but some aren’t. As if Reddit doesn’t exist solely because of its user generated content. If enough subs permanently shut down, they’ll be forced to reconsider their API position. Social...
I agree that the UI needs work. I want to point out that you can see a list of all your subscribed communities. On your profile, where it says Overview, threads, comments, etc, these are on a scroll bar. scroll over and there's a tab labeled subscriptions, and there you can see all your subscribed magazines and how long you've been subscribed to them.
Hi, I created this magazine in hopes of building up a community here on kbin and the rest of the fediverse once we federate completely. It feels weird to make threads that are just me. So please if you find this magazine and are interested introduce yourself....
Hello! Just wanted to make a magazine that's similar to NScollectors on reddit. Thought I'd make it more general for when Nintendo announces a new console
I had know idea that the fediverse existed before all this, but now that I do, I'm very excited to see where it goes. Before the shut down, tried to find alternatives to the subs I visited the most often, and and left any that I found an alternative. That left me with 10 subreddits. A few more equivalents have been created over the past day, so I may go back to reddit for 2-4 niche subreddits that remain, but will try to help build communities for those topics here.
Went to a friends wedding and decided that all I really needed was my wedding outfit, clothes for the trip back, and pajamas. So I decided to try out my new underseat bag. It all fit jacket, included! Which was good because one of my flights was on a little plane where most rollarboards had to be gate checked. If you click on the image you can see it, for some reason kbin is cropping the thumbnail
I'm not an Apollo user and only first heard of it this week, but everything I've read by and of Selig has been well reasoned and more than that: kind. He continuously gives others the benefit of the doubt where I'm not sure I would have.
Pretty Princess Magical Garden island is releasing later this month which is pretty hype. It's the 2nd game in the series (after Pretty Princess Party) and is a Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons / Animal Crossing style life sim. The first game was a room decor type game (similar to animal crossing happy home designer)...
Happy to be here @Otome ! I was just thinking of starting a magazine, luckily I searched first and found yours. I really like that it's not just limited to otome games. I love the community on the otome games subreddit, but wish wished there was space to talk about other female oriented games too.
@Otome@kbin.social I guess this magazine could eventually be overrun with husbandos, crowding out discussion on other games. It's just hard to imagine anything on kbin being crowded right now. Maybe I could start an otome game magazine and also direct people to this magazine in the side bar? I'd hate to draw people away from yours by creating mine while we still have so few people on here.
Games that stretch the Switch to its limits

The Reddit blackout was pretty underwhelming
In the last 3 days I've been paying attention to r/all, expecting several posts about it and......
I just hopped on today and the site is very unusable right now
EDIT: it seems that this is a known bug and will be fixed in the next release! Thank you guys for letting me know...
Did you reuse your Reddit name or create a new one?
I originally went with the same name but have been using this one now since it's new and the idea of starting fresh appeals to me....
Looks like federation is working again!
I just saw some posts from beehaw.org and lemmy.world, looks like we're back in business!
Looking for switch games that make you think
Ideally, I'd like a game that would be good for logical thinking and appropriate for an 8 year old for a few years? Any ideas?
What's your favorite 'Star Wars' video game?

I think we should (politely) message major hobby subreddits that went public to go private again. It's important to continue the protest.

Google is getting a lot worse because of the Reddit blackouts (www.theverge.com)
A Reddit result in Google might take you to a private page now
So what corners have redditors gathered to during the blackout?
Here (kbin), Lemmy, Tildes... I hear Mastodon had a user spike. Is there something obvious I'm missing?...
Introduce yourself :)

For reasons no one can fathom, McDonald’s has released a new Game Boy Color game (arstechnica.com)
A lot subreddits end their blackout tomorrow. Will you go back to Reddit, or continue with kbin and the Fediverse?
I haven't used Reddit at all since the blackout began. Even if they change course, the Fediverse is growing on me, and I think I'll stay here....
