Trump may have defamed E. Jean Carroll again, one day after posting a $91.6 million bond for last case (www.cnbc.com)

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday stood by his 2019 statement that writer E. Jean Carroll made a “totally false accusation” against him, despite similar claims resulting in him losing a defamation case in January....

After explicitly denying the service to an ally.

TL Actually read it, Yes.

I didn't say he deactivated it.

I said he specifically declined to activate it for Ukraine when requested.

He makes no such qualms about Russia using his service.

If you actually read what I said rather than what he responded and actually read the link he posted, you'll see that I didn't say he deactivated anything, I said he denied the service for an ally.

Elon explicitly denied to activate starlink in locations requested by Ukraine with a bullshit excuse that that would support war, while now making no qualms of Russia using the service for war.

Murky waters.

Killing a NATO PM on Greek soil would probably trigger Article 5.

But him deciding to go into a non NATO country and getting killed there, it would depend on the will of the NATO members what would happen at that point.

Considering they were making enough to agree to pay 2.4 million to Nintendo, they were making bank of the emulator.

If it went to court, this would've been much much higher.

Roku TV bricked until agreeing to new terms of service

See title - very frustrating. There is no way to continue to use the TV without agreeing to the terms. I couldn’t use different inputs, or even go to settings from the home screen and disconnect from the internet to disable their services. If I don’t agree to their terms, then I don’t get access to their new products. That...

This "smart" tv shite is getting so goddamn out of hand.

In the past 3 months, my dads TV had to be replaced because the module that runs Google TV shite broke, causing the TV to get stuck with an error message on screen, this was more of an annoyance than a big issue, as you could still watch TV, just with the error message displaying.

Then a few weeks after that it had to be replaced because at first I thought the backlight was dead (nothing but a feint glow on screen while having audio) as this happened even from a cold boot, but turned out that the Bravia module would run into a hung/frozen state right after it booted.

So, ya think that would be it right?

Nope, a good month after that, the TV would constantly log my parents out of Bravia, Google TV and any apps they had installed (indicating to me there was as storage issue).

The store they got the thing from were sure they must be doing something wrong, so sent someone out who spent a good 4 hours repeatedly factory resetting the TV, relogging them in to then be surprised the issue was exactly as we described.

So, 3 months, TV replaced 3 times, all due to issues with the goddamn Smart TV shite they shove into everything.

And you have to know, here there's nothing on cable or air you don't have on digital, your internet provider gives you a decoder for digital TV and all your TV really needs to do is accept a HDMI signal and you should be set to watch whatever you want, as Netflix and some other streaming services are integrated into their decoder to begin with.

But it's almost impossible to find any TVs without several layers of this smart tv shite integrated into them.

E. Jean Carroll expresses ‘very serious concerns’ Trump will pay $83M judgment (thehill.com)

He could then be President of the United States; he could then be a convicted criminal serving time behind bars; or, given his advanced age, Carroll may be forced to reckon with his estate. Any of these developments could substantially complicate collection efforts here.

Endorkend,

He's over leveraged to extremes and even his tangible assets, like hotels and resorts, probably aren't worth enough to cover the 400M package if, if sold.

His "I'm a billionaire" shtick was always ethereal at best and a straight up lie to boost the perception of his net worth at minimum.

The bizarre thing with Trump isn't finding out he's far from as wealthy as he and his family like people to believe, but that he's always been able to sucker some new money source into covering his debts with the banks.

Trump says his criminal indictments boosted his appeal to Black voters (apnews.com)

Former President Donald Trump claimed Friday that his four criminal indictments have boosted his support among Black Americans because they see him as a victim of discrimination, comparing his legal jeopardy to the historic legacy of anti-Black prejudice in the U.S. legal system....

It's incredible how weird their racism has gotten.

They were openly racist before.

Now they reverted to some weird form of ignorant racism.

Black people vote for us because we're criminals.

God can not be in control at the same time as the "forces of evil" being to blame unless god is evil.

Which according to the bible he is as he quite clearly states evil as all things, comes from him.

At which point I don't get why you'd worship that thing.

If this deity is what he's stated to be, creating evil or letting it exist are conscious choices made, defacto making it evil too.

A mutation for having a higher radiation resistance or higher resistance to cancer is something that already happens in nature, but in most of the animal world those are relatively useless traits, normally cancer doesn't develop fast enough to stop procreation.

In Chernobyl, the highly elevated radiation would normally kill animals before they can even breed. The ones that don't have the resistance die before they get the chance, the ones that do have a higher resistance breed.

With humans in the modern age, a resistance to cancer or radiation trait never gets the chance to become a dominant evolutionary trait as most all people only develop the cancer later in life and the ones that do get cancer early more and more often can get treatment giving them a chance to procreate even when they got cancer young.

Outside Chernobyl, there is no evolutionary pressure for a trait like that to become dominant.

Living long enough to procreate is the primary drive in nature.

We generally don't see fast evolutionary changes in nature because nature doesn't change quickly often.

Leave it to us, humans, to create situations where the change is drastic and quick.

Endorkend,
Endorkend avatar

Nah, just filters out those that are weaker/less resistant.

Everyone has radiation resistance. Our DNAs repair mechanisms protect us from DNA errors from all sorts of sources.

A region where high radiation exposure becomes daily life simply makes the this trait the dominant one for animals to live long enough to procreate, meaning the ones with the best mechanisms will survive, the others die.

Everyone has "cancer or whatever" resistance. That's why DNA works, it has repair mechanisms.

Getting cancer is when that mechanism either fails or isn't good enough to repair the damage.

Abnormal radiation levels can cause an excess of damage or different type of damage than what your natural mechanism is capable of fixing.

We're constantly being radiated, we're constantly employing our resistances and defenses against radiation.

We float around on a rock in a sea of radiation and even we ourselves emit low levels of (mostly harmless) radiation.

I'm with most people I've seen express a big meh for the show.

That show is only Star Trek by name. It's got its own thing going (more science fantasy than science fiction), which isn't my thing, especially not when you're looking for a Star Trek fix which always had a nack for playing with real science but sticking with the plausibility of it.

I enjoy the other Star Trek show(s) and The Orville much more to get that.

So I watch them.

This constant "they are haters because minorities/women/other representation" is getting tired. It's a couple loudmouth incels that have that sort of criticism and people like you seem to love getting baited in then saying everyone that doesn't enjoy what you enjoy must be with them.

And then I'd still do the interview over Zoom.

The US showing any sort of internal strife is Viagra for their (forced) "unity" boners.

A Vermont mom called police to talk to her son about stealing. He ended up handcuffed and sedated (apnews.com)

What happened next that evening in May 2021 is the basis for a lawsuit by the mother alleging that Burlington police used excessive force and discriminated against her unarmed son, who is Black and has behavioral and intellectual disabilities....

The thing that hit me with sadness most (aside the horrible murder) is that when you see pictures of Brianna, her eyes are full of life and happiness.

And then you see pictures of these two, devoid of any spark. Dead inside.
