Hi folks, I’m just getting into this hobby thanks to the posts in this community. So far, I’ve installed Ubuntu server 22.04 on an old laptop and got paperless working, and I’m pretty pumped. Now I would like to access it outside of my home network on my phone....
I'm using Oracle's Free Tier solely for the fact that it's free and it has amazing performance. 4 ARM cores, 24 GB of RAM, and 200 GB of storage for free. I think they also have a free AMD VPS if ARM doesn't work for you, but it's like only 1 core, 1 GB of RAM.
If you're willing to pay, I'd probably go with Hetzner.

Way better upload speeds, at least for me. Residential uploads speeds here are awful unless you have fiber. Uptime also tends to be way better.

I wholeheartedly agree with this blog post. I believe someone on here yesterday was asking about config file locations and setting them manually. This is in the same vein. I can't tell you how many times a command line method for discovering the location of a config file would have saved me 30 minutes of googling.

For those that don't know, rabb.it was a site where you basically had a chatroom and a virtual pc that was shared to everyone in the room. It was used to get together and watch youtube/plex/netflix/whatever together, and everyone was able to control the browser on the virtual PC. I don't even think you needed to have an account...

I’m a bit surprised to see so many torrent posts. Are most people still using Torrents? Are most piracy users aware of programs like sonarr or radarr?
