I had switched to Linux the moment they introduced Win10 and telemetry back when, with great success. Dual booted for a long time for gaming but even that is no longer needed now since a few years ago. built my first amd only rig in 2019 which was a game changer.

I'm totally unable to switch from chrome, the chrome icon is really the only one that works, all others are just too hard to see

clickbait title. basically, if your machine is already compromised in a severe way, here is another way how to compromise it further (for whatever reason)

Use work laptop as personal device by dual booting on a separate internal drive?

I currently have a Dell laptop that runs Windows for work. I use an external SSD via the Thunderbolt port to boot Linux allowing me to use the laptop as a personal device on a completely separate drive. All I have to do is F12 at boot, then select boot from USB drive....

apparently you are unaware of how much monitoring goes on in corporate IT. you're lucky they haven't already found the mac address yet booted with a different os, or maybe they're already onto you.
I would stop doing what you're doing immediately and hope it's not too late

but.. but I don't care, I have nothing to hide...

until your insurance company finds a genetic marker that makes you ineligible for health or life insurance, or you're unknowingly related to some criminal that the fbi uses to raid your home one morning

right, the real answer is that on Linux you can just use a different de if you don't like one

I like the game. it's easy to spend hours in it if you just take it for what it is without thinking what you wanted it to be

I don't agree with this take. the warning seems totally reasonable to me

that's probably the end for them. pretty sure there are going to be many lessons learned for others though

I filtered out ltt on yt a long time ago bc they were clickbait tech trash, like the journalistic equivalent of people magazine

Investigating the 'spiritual healers' sexually abusing women (www.bbc.com)

What is not in the article is that the problem is basically built into Islam since there are four reliable muslim male witnesses required in order to punish a rapist and when those witnesses are not available often the women is punished since she admitted with her rape allegations that she had extramarital sex....

ChromeOS is splitting the browser from the OS, getting more Linux-y (arstechnica.com)

It looks like Google’s long-running project to split up ChromeOS and its Chrome browser will be shipping out to the masses soon. Kevin Tofel’s About Chromebooks has spotted flags that turn on the feature by default for ChromeOS 116 and up. 116 is currently in beta and should be live in the stable channel sometime this month....

I don't believe there are good intentions behind this, I think there is a play, maybe preempt violating EU law or decoupling WEI from the OS to draw less ire (for now). but I don't trust it.
not that I'd use their browser nor os anyway

agree totally, the constant reposting to karma farm was one of the biggest annoyances
