They don't even need to NOT charge for API connections... They could just charge a reasonable fee, and allow 3rd party apps enough time to accommodate for them. Giving developers 30 days to figure out how to make their apps feasible AND implement that change on all their users is absurd.

You can grab a used Kindle on ebay for really cheap.

Then you can use an app called Libby to borrow books from libraries and send them directly to your Kindle, bypassing going to the library completely.

Yarn gets crazy expensive.

I fear with a lack of a mobile app, kbin isn't going to catch on right now. I'm signed up at both kbin and Lemmy, and while kbin seems superior - I'm more inclined to use Lemmy right now because of the jarboa app.

Oh, that is good news! I can see Kbin being the next Digg>Fark>Reddit iteration with a working app and 3rd party app support. I'll check back soon. Thanks for the link.

I'm certain that all my favorite hobbies, games, music, and politics will eventually have a magazine equivalent to the previous subreddits, but I'm not as hopeful for all the niche amateur NSFW subreddits. Reddit was great about having subreddits to cater to what appeals to everyone which connected amateur voyeurs to an audience that appreciated their... uh.. offerings.

Kbin Roadmap 2023

A certain stage of development has ended - a prototype was created that allowed me to verify whether such a form makes sense in the #fediverse. Until now, it was a project that I developed in my free time. Now, thanks to the great people from Nlnet, I will be able to devote much more time to it. This time, we have already...

Is there any chance that a certain threshold of down arrows can auto-hide or auto-prune entries as the platform becomes more user heavy?
