A Union. We should create a Union. Like a labor union. But of Fediverse users.
A Fedi Union.
Just like a #labor union aggregates the diffuse power of many #workers into something formidable that can stand up to the concentrated power of large #capital, a #fediverse#union could stand up to the concentrated power of, say, large tech companies entering the fediverse, if needed.
Damn, getting out of my comfort zone here as an introvert.
We had to bring a bunch of equipment to another building and I saw in a room there a huge professional green screen setup. I was kinda in awe. The green screen setup we have in this classroom is amateur at best, so...
Coworkers told me who managed that studio. So I sent him an email with that I'd like to take a closer look at the studio sometime, and if I could maybe see someday how everything works over there?
@djrobotham When your coworkers and even bosses have the grammatical skills of a child, using emojis in work emails doesn't seem that bad all of a sudden.
Took the plunge and installed PopOS on an SSD. A couple of hours in #DiabloIV with no issues, running just as well as Windows. Installing some of my Steam library now, and am happy with the performance.
I don't HATE Windows like a lot of other Linux users. Part of me just wants to have games running on something that they shouldn't be. I have always liked the tinkering side of tech. But the more I use Windows 11, the more the random ads and suggestions pop up in my Start menu instead of just letting me at my system, it has just gotten to a point where my computer doesn't really feel like its mine anymore. Microsoft is encroaching on my space.
Linux at the moment is a pretty viable place for me to do 80% of my gaming now, which is what I use my PC for 99% of the time. That is a great alternative, one with 0 cost to me, and I can help add another number in favor of Linux that will force developers to truly consider supporting the platform.
So Windows will be for Game Pass and AAA blockbusters like Cyberpunk and Jedi Survivor when I want every bell and whistle as optimized as possible. For mostly everything else, I think I'll be over on Linux.
Cue to two weeks from now when something catastrophic happens and I return to Windows lol.
