Certified foxgirl enjoyer. Weeb, but hasn't properly watched anime in ages. Gamer of incresingly niche subgenres. Aficionado of racecars, mechas, fighter jets, and any other vehicles you can think of. Lives in the wrong side of the planet compared to all my friends.
Made accounts in 278 different instances in the Fediverse after escaping Reddit, is still kind of lost. Doesn't know how hashtags work.

Working my way through Breath of the Wild, actually. Very slowly and leisurely.
Been on a Dead Cells bender lately, but that's starting to die down now.

I am prepared to pirate every single game I bought on that platform if that comes to happen =/

Yeah, over the past couple of years, the amount of AAA games that actually enticed me were very low, and some of the few that I actually got, were actually duds in the long run. I've actually experienced a renaissance in my own enjoyment of retro gaming instead, alongside a few select indie titles. I've found I'm generally having more fun exploring games that are 10-20 years old now, than anything new. There are so many good games that I did not experience back then, that are still excellent today. Things from the arcade ere, emulation of all the consoles up to the PS2 generation, and some stuff on GoG. There are so many more good games to experience today than what new AAA releases would have you believe.

The only AAA game I am hyped about, is the new ARMORED CORE 6. I am dying to play that and it looks like it's gonna be great. FromSoftware never misses.

My main most used account on Reddit had one of those pm_me novelty nicknames, but I haven't really got a PM for that in years now. Decided to make the account here with the name I use on other places normally. But I did consider taking something different. Coming up with new names is hard.

chjara, to random

fun fact: the sega saturn has half a dozen programmable chips and not a single one of them actually does true 3D, it's just got nice 2D sprite transformation hardware
side effect of which is that the saturn actually uses forward texture mapping and quads, like literally nothing else except one weird early nvidia card

@chjara Huh that actually explains so much about how developing for it, and nowadays emulating it, is such a nightmare. What a strange, revolutionary console.

Yeah, only because you just spent all of your money purchasing it, and then it failed and "made" you then cancel games and potentially close down studios, huh?

LOTR was a great franchise for games, back when the movies came out. If you want it to be a franchise again, you better at least match those games in quality. And I've been missing Battle for Middle Earth for a long time now.

Oh my goooood I am so hyped for this. Been a big fan of Armored Core since the PS2 days, and been a Souls fan since I managed to play Dark Souls 1 around 2016. This is showing to be an incredible game, applying everything that FromSoft learnt over all this time to make a new version of the formula, while keeping all of the main things that we love about it. Can't wait to spend hours upon hours in the mech bay optimizing builds.

Honestly, even if they walk everything back, I still know they want to kill it eventually. Might as well already make my way over to other places like here, and stay with them.
I don't know, but I already think I like it here.

I made an account on kbin and on beehaw to see how each side seems to work. I'm enjoying the general feel and atmosphere of both so far, but probably because many of the people I'm seeing are also Reddit escapees. But niche communities are still in a very germinal stage, a few of them are being created but since it's happening right now, there's still very few people in them, or that found them yet.

Nope, only have the base level subscription for online access in games that require it. Although barely even that I use. The only game I played lately that needed it was Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, and I never even pop up the SNES games that it allows me to. Usually end up emulating those on my PC anyway.

Cyberpunk’s expansion totally overhauls the original game (www.videogameschronicle.com)

So I think this is a good one for the patient gamers… I actually already played this soon after it came out and still really enjoyed it, although the world felt like it didn’t have any real people in it the city is just fantastic and visually appealing. I imagine this update will transform the game entirely, I’m looking...

I did the non-patient thing of getting this game on release on the GoG store, and honestly. I had an amazing time. Loved the game, loved the characters, loved the story and loved the ending I got. Didn't have too many issues and bugs, which I realize later that was very lucky.
Having many of the most important gameplay problems reworked, and having a whole new story expansion? Oh yes please.
