Game looks cool, but I can't stand this guy. He's speaking as if this is some third eye opening transcendental art piece. The... pausing between... words as if you should focus... on them because they're important and special... is really annoying... because it's just... a video game. It's like he's trying to show us some deep wisdom from a gameplay trailer.

spark431,

This style works really well for elden ring where the game is kinda cryptic. But, idk about armor core, where series has a way different vibe.

li10,

Yeah, it almost fits in with the voice acting of the souls series as well.

Completely out of place here though, and other than it being a FromSoftware game, covering this is kinda outside his wheelhouse.

I didn't play 4 or 5 and so watching this all I can think is these mechs are moving really fast. I remember them feeling a bit more rigid and heavy.

I had the same response initially, but I'm thinking it's because of how big the maps are. It seems like mobility, especially aerial mobility, is going to be a big deal in this game, so having the ACs move faster / have more boost time is going to be important to keep things moving, I bet

stormageddon,

I haven't played an Armored Core game in over a decade. I'm really looking forward to this!

If I were to buy only one game this year, this is it... And it's already going to be a crowded season.

Jesus this looks SO fun. My buddy has been hyping it hard as he's a lifelong fan of the series. I'm a huge FromSoft fan so I was going to get it anyways but wow this gameplay looks so smooth.

Oh my goooood I am so hyped for this. Been a big fan of Armored Core since the PS2 days, and been a Souls fan since I managed to play Dark Souls 1 around 2016. This is showing to be an incredible game, applying everything that FromSoft learnt over all this time to make a new version of the formula, while keeping all of the main things that we love about it. Can't wait to spend hours upon hours in the mech bay optimizing builds.

flansyrup,

I’ve never played an Armored Core game, but the hype surrounding it and From Software has made me really look forward to this.

Same here! I've been tempering my expectations as I know it's going to be quite different from their regular Souls-style games. But this looks great and the gameplay towards the end seems very promising

I never played an AC game either, I grew curious some time ago and looked up some gameplay on YouTube but it seemed.. stiff? overcomplicated?

recently the same guy (Vaatividya) released a sort of summary of all the AC games and the latest seemed a bit more interesting, but now that I’ve seen this demo I’m quite sure I’ll be getting it when it’s out and that it will be a pleasant experience, it looks very fun!

VaatiVidya has a great review of all the Armored Core games leading up to 6 for those who would like to see how the franchise changed over time and the story line.

co-signed, great video. I played some of the Armored Core games when I was a kid (shoutout Armored Core 2, got it with my Christmas PS2 haha) but was too young and not sentient enough to get a lot out of them. Video really helped me get a sense of what to expect with this game.

This is shaping up so well by the looks of it. The pace of play looks exactly what I would want out of a modern mech game. Very excited about this one. From Software does not miss.

This is really looking super polished. I'm a big AC fan and hoping to see a lot of QoL improvements here

It looks like it's get enough From design philosophy from the last decade that it will feel familiar to people that haven't played any Armored Cores, whilst hopefully still feeling like AC. I've only played Gen 1 and 2 myself, but seen a fair bit of footage from Gen's 4 & 5. It looks like it's sitting somewhere nicely between the early ACs and the later in terms of combat pace, feeling fast, but still deliberate, if that makes sense.
The fact that there's not only hints of the Souls-likes, but also Sekiro has me very excited.
I hope it doesn't stray too much from the classic AC formula that it no longer appeals to long time series veterans but I'm personally really, really, pumped for this one.
