Wasn't Palpatine a perfectly normal age for a human politician? I mean, he ate his own Force Lightning to the face and only came out looking like a melted wax statue.

Whereas Yoda being three days older than dirt legitimately did cause problems... Among them, Palpatine.

Of course that's what happens when your entire religion is the accumulation of thousands of years of marketing scams and cultural assimilation.

Also the reason priests can't marry has nothing to do with Jesus being celibate* and everything to do with medieval inheritance laws and making sure church land never leaves church ownership.

*In fact (assuming he existed at all) Jesus almost certainly was not celibate. You pretty much could not be taken seriously as a teacher in Judaism in that time period unless you were married. (Who tf was getting married at Caana and why would it have been his problem that they were out of wine if he was just another guest? But if he was the one getting married, well...)

    I read Twilight as a pre publication galley.

    Spent three quarters of the book waiting for it to be about something and just gave up.

    I don't care that it was written by a woman. I care that it's a fucking awful book with a vapid plot and the rest of the series glorifies abusive relationships like it's Fifty Shades for teens.

    Go read Ursula LeGuin or Holly Black instead.

    More ways to exclude and marginalize young people is not what society needs. Social media can be a lifeline for people who otherwise cannot live authentically or get access to literally anything true any other way.

    Right-to-work is different; it means you can't be required to join a union in order to take a job.

    I remember reading about a military guy, Staff Sergeant Max Fightmaster. I have no idea what he actually does (or did; guy's probably retired by now) but if he hasn't at least spent some time teaching martial arts he's doing it wrong.

    Edit: apparently he's a computer technician and that's even better somehow.

    Who, in your opinion, is the most annoying character in any game?

    Personally, it’s Faith from Farcry 5 for me. Uninteresting dialog that can be summed up to “I was bullied once” and that’s it. Literally every other character is so much more interesting. Jacob gives you a sequence where you run through a gulag which he then uses against you, John tries to kill you and is openly hateful...

    There's just so many characters whose entire presence makes me go "please shut the fuck up" that it's hard to pick just one. Like yeah pretty much anybody would sell Preston Garvey to Satan for half a donut, but there are just so many other annoying characters...

    These people are choosing to represent their country, not just going about their private business.

    You're also not "honoring your heritage" because the Confederacy was a three-year blip, not an era. Or a culture. Except insofar as being a collective of racist assholes is a culture.

    Everybody else has said the obvious about therapy and support, so, have a little more sympathy instead of more of the same advice. I know what it feels like to never feel good enough. It sucks like there aren't even words for, and I'm sorry you're going through that.

    Have a hug from an Internet friend, and remember it's not your fault. You did everything right, and meanwhile the world went and got worse.

    Work doesn't define you, and coworkers don't have to be friends. Work is what you do to fund your real life. Coworkers are people you tolerate as briefly as possible and forget about as soon as you can. If you're not getting paid, they can see themselves out of your mind entirely.
