The data that will be the same everywhere is basically everything that is described according to the ActivityPub protocol.

Everything else can be calculated and displayed by the server or frontend, so that's where most of the differences arise.

In this case, we likely won't see it on kbin, unless whatever app or frontend we're using implements it. Someone also may create a plugin or add-on you can install on your browser to add it as a feature.

Thanks! I'm soooo relieved that I can post fullsize gifs here! I'm also on mastodon @genart.social, and it doesn't support large enough gif uploads so I was really worried and honestly expecting the worst.

Pretty sure this is gonna be my main home on the fediverse!

If you haven't tried Dicey Dungeons yet, I highly recommend it. It's one of my all time faves, and often not something people have tried.

So it turns out the only thing that kept me coming back to Reddit was the formatting. I just like these karma based discussion threads. This is my favorite way to discover content on the web... But the format here suits me just fine.

Can't wait for kbin apps!

Also would love to be able to port my masto account to kbin in a way that brings my followers over.

This is a nice outcome though, since users can move to another server, bringing their followers and network with them. It also prevents long drawn out migrations like we see with twitter, because either you move on or you have nothing.

I mostly agree, it's not perfect, we're nowhere near the endgame yet. However even the situation you described would be better than now, where I can't bring my twitter followers anywhere with me.

I'm also sure this is just a taste of what's coming. After a year or two I imagine we'll have features that we can't imagine not having.

Every time I have to solve a captcha I'm forced to confront unresolvable semiotic edge conditions. Is the post that supports a traffic light itself part of a traffic light? I just don't know. I am inadequate to log in.
