Working IT: The entire family thinks I'll always be happy and eager to fix all of their computer problems for them.
Being an electrical engineer: People think I'm an electrician.

I know I've seen a donate link around here somewhere, but I'll be durned if I can find it now. Maybe someone else has it?

As far as I know, kilioa.org is closed to new registrations. At least I wasn't able to sign up there. I do have an account on fedia.io though. It's running more smoothly but is having its own problems right now with images not showing.

@lunar2m7 I'm happy to find this magazine here! I picked up the book after it was mentioned in a YouTube video I watched a while back. I was warned to stay away from the HoL subreddit before I read it through, so I did. This magazine is empty though, so it's probably a "safer" place to be!

I'm reading straight through without worrying about all the references because I've been told that's the best way for a first-timer like me. It's a tough one to read though, and when it starts to give me a headache I switch off to read something else for a while.

I'm looking forward to participating here!

Hey thanks for the link to the forums. I didn't know about them! I'll try to stay away from there until after I've read through the book.

Hi! I was never a Reddit user, but heard about this place after Reddit blew up a few days ago and got interested in checking it out.

I'm in Colorado, an electrical engineer but working an IT job. Ham radio operator. Electronics tinkerer. I enjoy reading and watching sci-fi. And, believe it or not, I collect engineering and math textbooks.

Test test test. Just trying to figure out how this thing works.

I thought gas lines connected every gas station in the country directly to a refinery somewhere. I was in my early teens before I realized they all had underground tanks.

I immediately stop reading when I see a tweet quoted as a source in a news story.
