when will be your last time to vote for the "lesser of two evils"?

When will be your “this is the last fucking time I’m voting for the ‘lesser of two evils’, then I don’t care after that, let this country burn to the ground”? For me, this is basically it. This is last election I’m going for that " lesser of two evils" bullshit. After that I’m done. It’s just pointless. Let’s...

assplode,

Great response!

I too will keep voting for the better choice.

assplode,

Cooking. I love to cook for my friends and family. I've been perfecting my homemade pizza for years. It's very good and I love to make it for guests.

I've had people say I should open a pizzaria, especially since the one good one in town shut down.

Fuck that.

assplode,

Lots of great info here, commenting so I remember this thread!

I need a low budget laptop

I want to create a setup where I have a powerfull PC at home, and a lightweight economic laptop to carry around like at school to take notes or watch media on the go. I’d like to spend around 250 euro, and for the os linux is ok. Thanks for the help. P.S. sry if the sub doesn’t fit but I didn’t know where to post this...

assplode,

Any second-hand business class laptop that fits your budget, i.e. HP Elitebook/Probook/Zbook, Dell Inspiron/Latitude/XPS, or Lenovo Thinkpad.

Second this. I have a 10 year old Lenovo running Ubuntu that suits my minimal needs just fine

assplode,

Kirkland Citrus body wash and Mitchum unscented antiperspirant.

I'm a sweaty mofo and need the strong stuff.

assplode,

assplode,

It's very tempting to shamash that button. Intelligence is lionized. It's high praise to call someone a genius. I'd probably wait on any button pushing until I'm old enough to have some cognitive decline.

I'm no genius. I'm a bit above average intelligence. And I have to say, I'm not sure it's done much to improve my overall happiness.

Like many gifts, it's a double-edged sword. Having a higher capacity for language, problem solving, and memorization has done a lot to ostracize me for my peers over the years.

@itnewsbot they never should have taken the sex out of it

assplode,

I went with Ubuntu when I did my first Linux install about 5 years ago. I still use it and have been super happy with it.

Everything has just worked. With a bit of googling, I've been able to easily do everything I've needed to.

I'm a user, not a programmer. I tried Linux because I was fed up with Windows. I'd been using Windows since 3.1 and hated how they changed basic functionality every revision. I just wanted a fucking OS that worked and made sense m

I'm so happy I switched!

    @jcrabapple

I just saw this article. Honestly, I had no idea the sphere was supposed to be a business. I thought it was like the fountains at the Bellagio: a novelty to draw people into a casino.

    assplode,

Charging infrastructure is still pretty shit compared to refueling a gas car as well.

    assplode,

Same here. We have two cars. One fully paid off, the other financed at like 3%.

    They're both practical, reliable vehicles.

The next time I'm looking for a vehicle, I do hope to buy an EV. This will be in 5+ years, hopefully. By that time, I'd expect there to be a variety of used EVs on the market. As well as improved charging infrastructure.

    assplode,

So cool that she was able to do it!

My friends and I were on a weekend motorcycle trip on the Olympic Peninsula in WA state. We pulled into a gas station for fuel.

There was a young woman on a kitted out ADV getting gas there too. We chatted for a few minutes. She told us she was a few weeks into a trip around the world on her motorcycle and gave us stickers.

She complimented the plywood racks I made for my motorcycle.

So cool that I got to meet her!

    Today's Commute: Orion RXB250L (lemmy.world)

Made by Nicot and distributed by Orion, the RXB has a very KTM “inspired” frame design with a Honda CB derived single cylinder 249cc engine. A lot of Chinese drop-shipped bikes are advertised as “250” cc, but this one actually is. It’s got six gears, too. Capable of 20-ish horsepower, lightweight, simple, cheap, it’s...

    assplode,

Very cool! I've been curious about China bikes. It seems like every year the quality is improving.

    assplode,

Easy signup is what brought me here too!

New and need help figuring out this site.

I am new here (kbin, but I guess this might post to other websites as well??) and am trying to understand how this place is similar and different from reddit. Is there a good overview somewhere? I already accidentally spammed this question three times as a microblog, whatever that is, and am trying to figure out how to actually...

    assplode,

Thanks! I'm new here too and this is very helpful 😁
